    Foxbody values

I remember making a prediction here about 10 years ago that foxes would shoot up insanely in price in the coming years. Several of the old time members told me I was dumb and that It would never happen. I’d watched it happen with 60’s and 70’s muscle cars that I’d bought and sold for under $1000...

Just when I think I’m out

Thanks man.. I had big plans for that calypso car; I used to have a really gorgeous one before it and I have a soft spot for them. That was way back at the beginning of this thread... I had to pull the plug on that car, it was just too rusty. Once I took it apart, I found out it wasn’t worth the...

Just when I think I’m out

Nope. There used to be a guy around here that was into that though...

Just when I think I’m out

Nah dude. Those are gray coveralls. I get off work and leave the steel toes there... and yes. Cruise home in crocs and socks. It’s good to be me! ;)

Just when I think I’m out

@CarMichael Angelo so this is what’s replacing that orange scaly snake. My pal that races SCCA with a fox wanted a stock K member to experiment on and stay within his class restrictions. I obliged him and he returned the favor with this gently used Steeda sway bar. I am pleased. :D

Just when I think I’m out

I have a laser straight oem hood, two brand new repop fenders, and a decent oem bumper that will replace the front end when I paint it. Then, and only then will I monkey with panel gaps, LOL! But seriously, yeah. I have a cowl cover and wiper arms, and everything I need that’s missing... except...

Just when I think I’m out

Fiddled with timing today, and installed a Hurst shifter. It’s actually becoming entertaining (somewhat) to drive...

Just when I think I’m out

I am not quite sure. About 3 owners ago it was in an accident that caused that, the dent that busted the 1/4 belt molding, and also dented the well the tail light sits in. I plan on buying a stud welder/puller to repair all of that nonsense before I paint it in the months to come.

Just when I think I’m out

Ignoring the busted trim and greasy finger prints, here’s how she sits now. Drives pretty good! If you count my son’s car that we restored... this isn’t the biggest POS I’ve had in the stable.

Just when I think I’m out

Thanks bud! About the time I tell myself I need to go have surgery I get to feeling better and I stop looking into it. Then... it starts bothering me again. Right now I’m doing pretty ok. Let’s hope it stays like that a while!

Build Thread 1978 Fairmont. I bet somebody back home’s thinkin’…I wonder why he don’t write..?

One more thing, which may not need to be said, but I’m going to throw it out there... Any time you press a bearing off of a pinion, carrier, shaft, etc... NEVER reuse it. Throw it away.

Build Thread 1978 Fairmont. I bet somebody back home’s thinkin’…I wonder why he don’t write..?

Okay, my apologies, let me try to clear that up. If you have a like for like branded bearing, yes... use the old race. I have actually mixed National brand with Timken and they were good, I wouldn’t try that with any other brands. If it was running fine and doesn’t show signs of damage it’s ok...

Just when I think I’m out

Made some more progress today! I got the k member in along with coil overs and spindles. I still need to bleed the brakes out and throw a rack in her.
