    FS/FT C-9 (1969) 351w block and heads.

I bought this engine to use on my build and realized it needed to be decked after ordering custom pistons, so I then bought another block. The block has been hot tanked and in good condition other then needing decked. I am looking for other 351w parts for trade, or make an offer to buy.

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

Thanks for all the info Giddyup. So here is where I'm at on my build. I found out that my block would not work with my custom pistons, the block was 14 thousandths off and needed to be decked leaving my pistons up out of the hole, so after a great deal of searching, I found a 74 block. I had...

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

ok,, I have found a d-4 (74) block for a $100, from the research I have done, this block is as strong as the c-9 (69) but has a 9.503 deck height versus the 9.48. Can someone confirm this to me? Thanks for any input.....I figured if this one will work,, i'll go pick it up on saturday and keep...

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

Ok,, this was an expensive day! I got the call that my block will not work (-$200+ whatever a new block cost), and then went to take my windshield out to repair the dents due to the hood flying up on the previous owner and cracked it. I had it 90% out and the lower middle section was in a bind...

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

Ok,, just got a call from my engine machinist and he says the block will not work! He said that one end of the side is 10 thousandths lower then the other. He also said that even on the high end my piston would be sticking out of the block 4 thousandths. So now I either have to find another...

    How Many CFM's for a 347

Yeah I'm thinking that the formula listed is outdated as well. I did mine and it said I should run a 740 cfm carb. 7200x418/3456x.85=740.

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

The only problem I have here is that I do not know all the allowances or clearances. I'm thinking that .003 is the max, but what do you do if your over the max, have the crank turned? I have read after the fact of buying all Eagle stuff that they have been having problems with the cranks not...

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

I stopped in and checked on my motor yesterday, he had it cleaned but not bored yet so I'm still waiting on it anxiously, but in no big hurry! I asked if he would refer anyone to build it and he suggested that he would give me all the tools and knowledge to do it myself, so I'm going this...

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

Yes I agree with you, this is why I'm 37 will be 38 in two weeks and have never learned it myself. I am the type that if someone else can do it,,I can. Seriously the only thing I'm worried about is the rings and do I use loctite on all the bolts in the bottom end? My engine machinist said...

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

Thanks for the info, listed it on craigs list for $800 and sold it as a package deal for $700. Talked to the machine shop yesterday and motor is being bored today, so hopefully I get it all back next week sometime. He done an engine for me back in the 90's and since then stopped building them...

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

Ok,, I'm going to list the 2 barrel carbed 302 with the T-5 setup and the Hurst short throw shifter, what is a fair price to list this set up? I don't want to feel like I'm ripping someone off. Mileage is unknown. Thanks for any input.

    Is a 700 horse 351w (418) streetable?

Thanks for you input MWOOD. I'm hoping someone can chime in and tell me if all my parts will match so far into the build. As I stated earlier I'm baseing this build off the popular hot rodding budget build, but my heads, intake and cam are different. Not sure if they are for the better or...
