All I know is that Ford didn't make the ttop cars themselves, they sent out the foxes to the company who put them in (not sure of the company's name?) in 87 and they only did that in half way through in '88. That's why the '88's are so rare...

Yeah we love the ttops also! I've rarely seen another ttop, older ones, but never a 87 and especially an 88, those are super rare! Never see them at the cruise ins...

Yeah my convertible is an 89 but doesn't have the plaque on the dash. Maybe it was produced earlier in 89. I'll have to look at the sticker on the door...

I was afraid of that. Maybe I'll google it to see how to get bird crap stains out of a top, lol! It makes it look so bad!

I think my husband's 87 Ttop is beautiful. Was very difficult and long rebuild! My favorite pic of the car....

Lol! Yeah, I'm thinking that's why they changed it to the black top because of the cleaning issues! Another question, the car had been sitting for two years before I bought it, and the owner never washed it, so there are bird crap stains on the top, is there a good cleaner that will remove it...
