That is impressive... I have yet to take my lx to the track but my understanding is when you are banging gears at the track it can really put the strain on the trans. I guess you can do the same on the street to some degree but the launches and cracking off every gear has to take it toll.

I'm currently running 425wrhp through mine and it is hanging in there. I am pretty easy on it and don't really bang on the shifts at all but I know I am on thin ice with that kind of power. The trans is at 107K so I just treated her to a change with some Royal Purple and we will see if we can...

+1 on the fender. Mine is in the driver's side. Out of the way and been fine for years. There really isn't a good place in the interior IMHO if you are trying to keep the stock look. K

Sweet fox and awesome thread....thanks for sharing. Are you running any kind of pan girdle on the motor or is the Thunderbird block any different from the stock mustang 5.0 block that would have been in that car. I see balancing makes a big difference for high rpm but just wondered what else...

There certainly is a trade off with purchasing a "project" that is yet to be finished. If it is running, driving, and all the bugs are worked out they may want more money. If you can 100% confirm that he is selling what is advertised (rebuild, pistons, etc...) then it will be your call to...
