Talk of building dragstip in Fort Wayne, IN!

I'll be honest, I'm trying to spread the word purely for my own convenience, however, I really do think this could be a positive for everyone. Basically, follow the link, vote, and comment so we can add another Midwest dragstrip. Also, I would like to only drive 15-20 miles to go race instead of...

Installing rear end gears. Gotta question.

Cant remember the spec, but i always went for about .010" or so preload in the carrier. Basically, some resistance when you turn it, but not to the point to where its real difficult to turn. And, yes, equal shims to each side shouldn't effect backlash, but recheck to verify, just in case.

Top 10 dumbest things I've done to my car

Putting a spool in the back of a car that saw a relatively large amount of street time, just dumb. Lockers are not THAT expensive.

    cost of gear install

Look around and get the best shop you can for gears. Buying you own parts is a good idea, a shop will almost always markup parts costs. Bottom line, the money is worth it. 4.10's rock! I've installed at least a half dozen sets of gears in 8.8's, and I still spend about six to eight hours doing...

ported e7's + e-cam + TFS street heat = cheap street oriented top end?

I didn't think about the pistons being different, that's a good point. Apparently, the engine in it is .030 over, according to previous owner. So I have no idea what pistons are in it. I'll just make sure I check PTV clearance, regardless of what I find in there.

ported e7's + e-cam + TFS street heat = cheap street oriented top end?

Looking for a bargain basement head swap for my 86 5.0. The car is already equipped with a TFS street intake, and according to the previous owner, a FRPP e-cam. However, I'm unsatisfied with the current power. With stock port e6's, the loss of a little low end torque from the cam is noticeable...

    New guy from NE Indiana

Thank You! I traded a guy another 86 I used to have for it. (Just can't resist the 4-eyes!) It's been painted obviously, and the interior has been pretty much replaced. It's not a show car by any means, but whenever there isn't snow on the ground, it's my daily driver.

    New guy from NE Indiana

Hi, I'm from Decatur, IN. I'm new to Stangnet. My current ride is a 1986 Mustang GT Hatch 5 speed. 170,000 miles. It has a usual simple bolt ons. I managed a 14.4 last fall, but since have swapped from 3:73 to 4:10s, and treated the trak loc to a much needed rebuild. I'm hoping to squeeze a...
