Better pictures, got the front wheel leveled out.

    17 Or 18 Inch Wheels

Here are a couple mock up pics, 18" ASA Revolutions with 225/45R18's. I really wish I had the rear axle installed and the car on the ground so the front wheel wasn't hanging down. I think the car pulls off the look quite nicely, I was worried that they would look too big. I don't know if that's...

    17 Or 18 Inch Wheels

I'm firmly in the "17's are just right, anything else is too big" crowd, but I got offered a set of 18" ASA Revolution rims with tires for a price I absolutely couldn't pass up. I'm going to try them on my '68 Coupe, and if I can pull off the look, I'll keep them, if not, I can resell them...

    Putting Discs On A '68

I talked to someone at CSRP, and they said with a '68, I can convert to the KH brakes with a power booster conversion, and the cable clutch conversion will clear it. They also said the kit comes with a new pedal, so I will order this kit along with the Mustang Steve cable kit, after I get done...

    Putting Discs On A '68

I seem to remember the kit I ended up with on my '66 was CSRP, and it was pretty nice. I'll have to give them a call in the morning and see if they have a power brake kit compatible with a T5 swap. I ended up with a late model Tremec T5 yesterday for a steal, so that's something else I'll have...

    Putting Discs On A '68

I just picked up a '68 coupe project after regrettably selling my '66 a while back. Yet again, it has front drum brakes (Why can't I ever seem to find a car with discs already on it?!) and I'd like to put discs on it. This is just going to be a daily driver/cruiser, so no fancy stuff needed...

Help ID'ing my 8" axle - tag is missing

I picked up an 8" rear axle yesterday to use in my 1966 Mustang. I pulled it out of a Maverick, but stupid me forgot to check the year of the car. The ID tag is missing and I can't find any numbers stamped into the housing. I believe the carrier has been changed since the part number off it...

Which timing chain for fuel pump eccentric?

I tore down the old 289 I got for parts and got the timing cover, fuel pump, and eccentric to use on my '98 302 engine. I believe I have the 1 piece eccentric. I know I need to change the timing chain and gears on the 302, but is there any particular engine I can order it for, like just a 289...

Confused with '66 motor mounts- what do I really need?

I got the body pulled off my Explorer today, so the engine is ready to pull out. I think I will wait until I get a front brake kit and get all the front end parts put on. Sure will look a lot cleaner once all that fuel injection crap is gone! :D Can anyone answer my water pump/timing...

Confused with '66 motor mounts- what do I really need?

Well, I have a little more info on the 289. It has a 2bbl aluminum intake, still not sure if it's a stock one or not. The front timing cover is supposedly off a 302 (it has a driver side exit water pump), but it has the dipstick and fuel pump mounts. Is it possible to use a 289 passenger side...

Confused with '66 motor mounts- what do I really need?

The glass emblem was broken out and with all the chrome pitting and corrosion, it was junk anyway. Maybe I ought to ditch the 5.0 and drop in a 350/350 combo to match. :nice:

Confused with '66 motor mounts- what do I really need?

Already have plans for the drop while it's apart, and I plan on making my own brace. I found one online that I really like the design on, and I will try to do one similar. My current problem is figuring out my dipstick/oil pan/timing cover situation. I know I need an oil pan that will clear...

Confused with '66 motor mounts- what do I really need?

I know sooner or later I'm going to need a radiator for the 302. I've looked around for the conversion radiators with the lower outlet on the driver's side, and the best I've found so far is one from Mustangs Plus for about 200$, here: Mustang Parts from Mustangs Plus :: Cooling - Radiators &...

Confused with '66 motor mounts- what do I really need?

Well, I just got back from Napa ordering all new chassis parts. My wallet sure feels lighter now! I ordered L+R inner tie rods, L+R outer tie rods, new tie rod adjusters, idler arm, pitman arm, rubber motor mounts, L+R front shocks, new front coil springs, upper ball joints, and new lower...

    Sticky: I6 to V8 conversion

There are many reasons to start out with an Inline 6 car and convert to a V8. I started out with an Inline 6 because that was what was available...60's Mustangs are rare in my area compared to most other places. I also have a V8 engine and rear axle sitting around, and all my chassis parts are...

Confused with '66 motor mounts- what do I really need?

Here's all the pics I have of it, I posted the story behind it in the Welcome Forum. Basicly the plan is to get the chassis in good shape, get everything working, throw some glass in it and drive it! When I first got it: After cleaning it up a bit:

    where to look?

Craigslist.org or other forums in your area would be the best place to start.

Confused with '66 motor mounts- what do I really need?

Well I just scored a set of frame mounts off ebay for $40! And I may have my Inline 6 sold too. As soon as thats out I can pull my 302 out from the Explorer and drop it in. Starting to get excited!
