    Fox Traction Issues

Tires. I've got Toyo R888's on my 04, and MT drag radials on my 89. The Toyo R888's are about half way between an excellent street tire (treadwear rating of 140-200) and a drag radial, but you can drive them in rain. They hook much better than the 100 treadwear number would leave you to...

Flat Tapped Cam With Roller Rockers?

There is no issue using roller rockers with a flat tappet cam, they don't touch each other. That cam is for 1962-1981 engines (and related spark control systems); is that what you're installing it in?

    5.0 Build

For that set up, which will run great, I'd run a 75 or 76mm MA, depending on brand.

Going From 302 To 347, Which Parts Can I Reuse?

When I went from a 306 to a 369 a couple years ago, the only part I transferred was the Holley Systemax intake. I up sized every other part, from MA to headers.

Post If You Have A Custom Cam

    A lot of fairly mild custom cams, to which I'll add a pair: 223/227 @ 0.050, 0.610/0.613 lift, 112.5 LSA for a 369, 8.2 deck, AFR 185 comp, 10.6 CR, Holley Systemax, Kooks headers, 89 Mustang 224/230 @ 0.050, 0.582/0.565, 112 LSA for a 462 FE, edelbrock heads, 10.5 CR, PI intake, Hooker...

    Stock Fuel Pump

It depends on how efficient your engine is, but if it's tuned efficiently, the stock pump will support around 300 hp. If you don't have enough fuel pump, you'll run lean at the top end, which if severe enough can lead to melting holes in your pistons. Pull a spark plug, and look at it closely...

    Sway Bar Opinions

I bought the eibach kit for my 07 350Z a while back, and it definitely made a nice difference. It came with poly bushings, and both bars were adjustable which allowed tuning. On my 89 Mustang, I installed a larger (tubular) Steeda front sway bar, and added the Steeda adjustable rear sway bay...

Fox Few Question Before V8 Swap

The tach will be off by a factor of 2 if you don't swap the gauges - I forget which way, but I drove mine like that for a while (I put the v8 cluster in days/weeks before I put the engine in). The radiators are the same, which seems hard to believe, though I agree you should go bigger with a...

4 Cyl Swap, Front Strut Question.

The bodies are the same, I didn't have any issues installing all the v8 suspension components in my 89 (was a 4 cyl). What perch are you talking about, at the top of the strut tower, or on the control arm? The v8 steering rack is more responsive, but also requires the v8 steering pump.

    Long Tube Difficulties?

I found BBK 1 5/8" long tubes not that much harder to install than equal length shorties. Larger diameter long tubes can create more fitment issues. The big issue with long tubes is you do give up some ground clearance, but I love what long tubes do for you, and wouldn't dream of not having...

    New Rear End Gear Choice?

Sounds like you need better tires to me.... I run drag radials on my 89, and recently picked up a set of Toyo R888's for my 04. The R888's can handle rain, and cut the middle ground between really nice street tires (with 140 TW, which are useless in first gear past a certain power level) and...

Oil Pan For Dart Shp 302 Block

I went with high volume. Now that it's broke in, at hot idle, it drops down roughly a third of the way.

Oil Pan For Dart Shp 302 Block

I went Moroso on mine as well, also with the moroso pickup. I used a universal dipstick tube, and it was a pain to get to fit. Actually it took a second dipstick tube to get the bends close enough to work, using the first one as a model.

Anybody Using Energy Or Poly Front Control Arm Bushings?

To replace the front control arms requires removing the front springs. I'd say it's straightforward, but it does require you do things in the correct order and safely. Removing car springs can be dangerous if not done correctly.

    "sloppy" Steering

In my mind, yes, but I love taking corners more than anything. A stiffer frame allows you to achieve better handling, and with softer springs than otherwise would be required. Bracing does not make the car ride stiffer - stiffer springs, struts and shocks do (and shorter stiffer tires). On my...

    "sloppy" Steering

I'm a big fan of subframe systems, I have the Kenny Brown Extreme Matrix on my 89, the Stifflers FIT on my 04, and the Global West system on my 67 Cougar. They really tie the front and rear subframes together, and then tie them to the rocker panel pinch weld, eliminating most of the flex...

    "sloppy" Steering

Subframe connectors will make a very noticeable improvement, eliminating a lot of flex in these cars. Sway bars can make the car handle flatter, but will not eliminate any looseness. "Sloppy" is a relative term, but it makes me wonder if you have a suspension issue that needs repairs, perhaps...

Anybody Using Energy Or Poly Front Control Arm Bushings?

Definitely sharpened the handling, significantly. The ride is a little harsher, but I think some of it is subjective - the bushings transmit more noise when you hit the cracks in the road, which makes you think it's harsher. No squeaks. I've got them in both my 89 and my 04, because I like...

92 Fox Notch Build: Stock, Light And Sticky..what Next..

The MAF was a C&L 73mm and the Tb was 65mm. Both predated the head and intake installation. I had installed some 1.7 roller rockers, and lost about 1.5 mpg, and later installed the TFTW heads, and got the 1.5 mpg back. In the end, with the 306, I got the same 20 mpg around town I always got...

92 Fox Notch Build: Stock, Light And Sticky..what Next..

I gained 1 to 1.5 mpg when I swapped out the factory heads for TF Twisted Wedge 170cc heads many moons ago (cobra intake and 24# injectors at the same time, along with the different tube in the pre-existing C&L MA). Surprised me at the time, but the difference was definitely there. With 3.73...
