    Noob intro

What is your budget and intended use for the car? Stick or automatic? What do you mean by "crazy horsepower" and "lots of boost"? These are relative statements. Give us an idea or range you are shooting for.

    2000 Mustang GT

What's your budget and goal for the car? Tuner is helpful with more than just performance - it is a great maintenance tool as well. Gears wake up any 4.6L but which gear depends on your goal/intended use and transmission.

What would you do with 5-6k?

If you are keeping RWHP below 400, you should not need to do the bottom end. If like most, you want more once you have your 350-370hp then you will wish you had started with a forged bottom end. Be honest with your end goals, think them through well and you will be fine. A blower is a great...

first start...major problems!!! i need help!!!

As far as the compression being different, on stock bottom ends I have seen up to 10% variance between cylinders which is considered within tolerance. Yours is 9% and many would consider that acceptable but I find it curious that the variance seems to have chosen sides. I would think that you...

97 GT to Cobra engine and trans swap

I would call Justin at Palmetto Pony Sales in SC. 803-532-8181 or [email protected]. He can be hard to get ahold of but from my experience it is worth it. You can check the website at http://www.palmettoponysales.com/. He is not good about updating his website so you will have to talk...

    Bad Belt Tensioner

I don't think the problem is the belt tensioner... If it was a belt tension problem then you would have noise - basically belt slippage and this will not make you stall. A stall condition is caused by load not equaling fuel/air required. First thought would be the IAC but you just changed...

    4.10 Gears

I went from automatic to 5-speed and 4:10s - 5th gear is usable around town. Changed my launch at the strip though, 1st gear is a waste of time - I use it for a ~7 second burnout but stage and launch in 2nd. If you have enough power and 4:10s you can save a little time on that shift and avoid...

    4R70W parts

Also have: 4R70W - AODE with all electronics from a '98 Mustang GT. 85K miles. Replaced because trans was slipping due to low line pressure. Turned out to be a computer problem. Pulled pump to inspect forward clutch assembly. Clutches look okay, there are a few small heat marks on the...

MSD coil sold. Any takers on the filter for $75.00 shipped to continental US? This is Summit P/N: SUM-G282 and they sell for $171.95 plus shipping and tax. I have no use for it - sold all my carbed toys.

FS: hpm camber caster plates CHEAP

Someone buy these from this guy! I do not need them but might just have to buy them just because of the price. Don't be scared of the looks, they will polish up very nice or you can scuff and paint them.

    Underdrive pulley

I actually timed myself for the heck of it. Took just over 18 minutes without rushing - used air tools for all of it. You can use a strap wrench on the water pump pulley and it is no sweat. Don't know about actual gain in hp but seems to rev up faster.

    4v heads on 2v block

I would ask what your primary use of the car would be. A 2V with a good supercharger or turbo makes plenty of power - more than stock internals can handle. If you are doing high revs and really working out the car then, maybe you would like the idea of half the moving parts in the valve train...

    bbk underdrive pulley question help!

I have BBK on my '98 and the instructions say to install the balancer on the under drive crank pulley. It is a tight fit and I would double check the length of the replacement crank bolt - mine was not long enough to make up for the lost length so I bought another grade 8 bolt and used it. You...

N8dogg98 - I would be soooo unsatisfied with those times with that car! Somebody help this guy hook up quick!

    Good Turbo Kit?

If you want to exceed 450hp - you definitely need to start saving for a forged motor. Doesn't matter if you want forced induction or N2O. At higher power levels you must have forged pistons and rods or you will be building again very shortly - and sweeping up what's left of your old motor...

    98-GT Electronic Issue? Need Advice

sorry I cannot be of help here. I would try to track down that clicking noise - it is a big clue the the fix. I am not familiar with a "amplifier modulator". You don't think he may have been trying to point you to the modulator on the cruise control do you? I am sure some of the other guys...
