    cheap valve cover recommendations

I was curious what people are running for cheap valve covers that clear scorpion stud mount rockers on AFR 165s. I am going to weld LS2 coil packs onto them so they don't have to be too nice, but I would like something decent. Was looking into something like 94-95 valve covers since the oil...

    Megasquirt Base Tunes

I'm going to megasquirt my car this summer so I was curious if anyone has any tunes they would like to share (so I can get a feel for tuning the system or at least familiarizing myself so it doesn't have to be the same components I'm going to run)? I am going to use the ford explorer...

    AOD to tremec? Which one?

You may look for a 3550 for sale that is used and in good condition. I got mine used two years ago for an awsome deal. With it, you need a bellhousing, and a shifter, but none of the other fun stuff. Oh, and you'll love banging your own gears. :nice:

    Afr Cylinder Heads Ques..

I see what you are saying, I misread your post and thought you said that studmounts were non adjustable and weaker than the normal ped mount. And like Stang8URMPRT said, i belive those are called shaft mount rockers, not ped...

    Afr Cylinder Heads Ques..

are you sure about that? here's a quote from http://www.mustang50magazine.com/techarticles/18679/ For most street applications, pedestal-mount rocker arms are perfectly adequate. However, when high horsepower and proportionately high valvespring pressures are used, pedestal-mount rockers...

    Afr Cylinder Heads Ques..

Pedestal mount heads use a pedestal that the rocker mounts down on and then a bolt goes through to hold the rocker down. Stud mount heads have a stud on wich the rocker attaches to. Stud mounts are much stronger and adjustable whereas ped are weaker and non adjustable. I would say get the...

    3.73 swap gone bad

Sucks about your gears man, I hope they get fixed and your out on the street again in no time, you'll love the gears. I usually dont get involved with the "internet fight" thing, but I think you're being a little immature this go round. SmockDoiley was just putting forward his opinion and...

help me run some better times

I haven't leaned out the thirtys much, im running around 37psi vac off. The maf/injector combo works good since I had the c&l 76mm before and it idled like crap... I do have an eec tuner and i do know what Im doing. I mainly got it so i could turn off my smog stuff, raise my idle a bit, turn...

help me run some better times

I dont run at Bandi, I live in pueblo durring the summer months (aka drag season) so I race at PMI. Everyone says the track sucks so much that they even run better times a couple thousand more feat above sea level at bandi... I've tried shifting right at 6k (where i thought the cobra was...

help me run some better times

I want to put it on the dyno asap, but it costs money so I'll do at least the cam first. I've played with my timing from 12-16 degrees at the track and it seems to like 14 the best. I need to play with the fuel pressure more though, thanks for the tip on the springs as well.

help me run some better times

hey guys, well the track has been closed for a couple months now and I'm not real impressed with my times so far. I have the following mods: AFR165s, cobra intake, 11:1 compression (from a fresh rebuild), x303 cam, prom 77mm MAF, 30lb injectors (big i know, but i needed new ones right away)...

How good is Tweecer for a long period of time?

well i use the eec tuner right now, but wish I had a tweecer, their setup seems to be nicer. I like my eec tuner though and "tune" my car to my likeing. I also have turned off my emission stuff since i dont need it. I say go for it.

    t5 conversion

I did mine a couple years ago it was pretty cake. I did take the seat out and drop the collumn to make things easier on me (running speedo cable and such). To my knowledge, you can just throw a clutch pedal on, I believe the manual pedals are shifted in different positions to make room for the...

Short block engine where to get the parts

thats true, not many people need a HV oil pump. I got one because i spin up to 6500 and soon to be 7.2k all the time. A good rule of thumb is 10 psi per 1000rpm...

Short block engine where to get the parts

sucking up too much oil with a HV oilpump is a myth. I have one on my 302 and only 5qts, and it revs right up to 6500 no problem (disabled harsh fuel cutoff).
