A lot of street driving and some strip(maybe 10-12 times a year). I would like the car to handle well on the street and hook at the track. I don't need the car to be road race worthy but also not too "spongy" in the not straight driving.

No worries, I am trying to learn myself. I am not worried about discs as much as I am about rear-end strength. My main goal is to do this as cheap as possible. I have found some rear ends from 86-93 for under $300 and I am sure I can find one for cheaper when I get home.

Can't wait to start my 93 Coupe with a 6.0l/th400 when I get back from deployment. Wish I could see the pics, it sounds very promising to me for the 1/4 mile times!!
