On my 68 there's those vents behind he hood in front of the windshield. I'm guessing this is the intake for the heater/AC...? Well that piece is spot welded on the car, I have a problem, because my car was sitting in a barn for ten years that space inside is full of leaves, twigs, dust etc etc...
