    07 Cobra information, specs/prices/due date

Power can be made in one of three ways: displacement, compression, revs. Boost greatly increases compression. I could make the same argument as you in regards to the LS2. We can make the same power without needing to get "drastic" (larger displacement). OHC motors are going to be more...

300HP? Thats It...Whats wrong with Ford

Please name a single performance car from any manufacturer that had all special models out the first year of introduction. Corvette - no Z06 at intro. WRX - no STi at intro. Evo - no MR at intro. Miata - no Mazdaspeed at intro.

    07 Cobra information, specs/prices/due date

In regards to the "first for Ford" fuel delivery system.. this sounds like direction injection. If the Hurricane is going to utilize that, then it's going to be an insane performer while still being one of the cleanest burning V8's available. The 5.4 S/C 3V engine rumours are coming from all...

    Bigger V8 from Ford

My next vehicle (if gas prices stabilize no higher than 2.50/gal for premium) will either be a 2005 Mustang GT Convertible, or a 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T. The Mustang is only in the running because I dearly miss driving a 5-speed droptop, and of course Mustangs will always have a special place in...

    What color do you want?

It's a tough call, because unlike the SN95, the '05 looks good in pretty much any color. I never used to like any color of blue or gray on cars, but the late model SN95's really made me fall in love with Sonic Blue and Dark Shadow Gray/Mineral Gray. I guess my vote goes to Sonic Blue.

    next generation hwy patrol car?

The idea of Hemi-powered police interceptor cars scares me. While I think there are some states where it makes sense as an alternative to the DOHC variant of the Crown Vic, the 385HP of that motor is perhaps a greater liability than some police departments are ready to accept. If the 03/04...

    What generation...

SN-95 is sufficiently different from the Fox that it is a unique generation. The platform itself didn't change, but there is absolutely no mistaking the difference between the two vehicles.

heard a rumor of the new 05' body styleS?

It'll be a sad day when the last Fox vehicle rolls off the assembly line, but I'm looking forward to the new platform. Fox has certainly been one of the world's most durable and long-living platforms, but I think after 27 years, it's time for it to ride off into the sunset.

Just saw the 2005 at the 40'th show in Nashville

The only reason the GT500 is so commonly loved is because of Eleanor, which was far from a stock GT500 anyway. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing someone make an Eleanor body kit for the 05 style.

03/04 Cobra engine in 05 mustang?

If you "need" an 03 motor in your 05 Mustang, you better expect to be spending $30,000 on top of the purchase price. Call up Sean Hyland Motorsports and ask what they can do for you. Find a dealer who can get one shipped directly to SHM as soon as it comes in (I doubt SHM can get one shipped...

03/04 Cobra engine in 05 mustang?

It should probably fit, but you'll need a cowl hood and the T-56 tranny from the Cobra as well. For the cost of all that, just wait for the SVT model to come out, which will be more powerful, have better handling, and come with a warranty. Or you could just start building up the bottom end for...

    No '05 GT conv?

There won't be a 2005 Mustang Convertible in 2004. It will probably show up as a late 2005 model next spring, however. Just in time to lure more people into showrooms who've already seen the coupe.

I took pics of GTR,GT,Cobra etc

I love all the Made in Detroit plates that Ford is putting on their show cars. Made in Detroit - Deal With It Made in Detroit - As God Intended Made in Detroit - Just For Burnouts Anybody notice any others?

So if the GT-R has somewhere near 500 hp.....

Where did I even discuss turbo? You want dozens of possible drivetrain configurations, and I'm telling you it will not happen. The S/C Cobra was available with one powertrain, and had to sell quite a few units in order to recoup development costs. Now, each and every configuration...

So if the GT-R has somewhere near 500 hp.....

You obviously have no clue about how this stuff works. The entire vehicle package needs to be tested. This costs many millions of dollars. Ford would never make up for the cost of testing with sales. The F-150 is perhaps the most factory-customizable vehicle currently on the market. The...

So if the GT-R has somewhere near 500 hp.....

Even with serious suspension upgrades and a 500hp DOHC 5.0, the GT-R would really only have the Viper and Z06 as competitors. The Ford GT is aimed at the exotics. It also puts down over 550hp to the wheels, which I can assure you is beyond the realm of a factory-issue N/A 5.0 DOHC motor...

    Mustang GT-R press pictures"

You guys seem to be harping on the wing a lot. Think it through before you do so. Without it, that car becomes uncompetitive on the race track. At 150+ you need all the extra downforce you can get. The majority of cars on the road with big wings don't need the downforce. There's a...

    GTR - 40 Pics

I'm sure the wing is entirely functional - think Cobra R. The side exhaust is a bit over-the-top, as are the wheels, but I like it overall. Give me some more reasonably sized wheels and less chrome on the exhaust exits, and bump the power to the magical 500 mark. Then we'll have a nice Viper...

New to me, have you seen these spy shots yet?

It's probably a body being worked on by one of the tuner shops. That's about the only likely scenario, as I suspect all of the pre-production cars have been built, and any additional ones would be for final federal crash certifications before moving it over to full line production.
