Any bolts that won't come loose and you can get a torch on them, do it. Particularly the header to h-pipe nuts, since they get very rusty. Get them hot as hell and then hit them with some penetrating oil while they're still hot. The cool oil will smoke like hell, but also draw into the...

You could use it as an opportunity to do a Fox-style throttle body swap. I have read about people experiencing better throttle response just from the swap alone.

I really doubt they'd be a direct swap. The seat track would most likely need to be adapted somehow, but I really don't know what all that would entail.

You can pull codes with a paperclip and by watching the check engine light flash on your dash.

What year, make, model car are we talking about?

Full fluid change (NA for trans since it's being replaced), check/replace accessory belt, lube suspension points, lube door/hood/trunk hinges, check tire pressure. Basic maintenance that more, or less covers the whole car.

For real! That takes dedication.

Does it have enough coolant in it? The temp sensor will read air temperature inside the cooling system in the absence of coolant. If your engine is beginning to overheat, it will definitely run bad.
