    Saleen has all the GT's

The problem with the Roush and Saleen (and all the other aftermarket stuff) for the 05 is that everybody just took the styling of the SN95 aftrmarket and grafted it on to the 05 body. Nothing is original. All those scoops and strakes don't belong on this body style.

numb steering? easy way to get better road feel

I don't know of any passenger cars built today that have steering dampers. Only recirculating ball steering systems really need them. I bet you could count on one hand the number of light duty vehilces that still have them . . . wrangler, F150, Dodge Ram . . . Maybe the smaller trucks like...

    Saleen pics are up!

I like the new rear end treatment, but I'd lose the spoiler. The car needs to be a bit cleaner, maybe take the vents of the hood and have cleaner side sills. The interior is nice, and overall, the stance is pretty damn good. I predict that the taillight treatment is going to be a popular...

    Where are the numbers?

Ok, the 05 GT's have been out for what, a week? Two weeks? Why have I not seen any 1/4 mile or dyno times from anybody yet? Am I missing something? I would have guessed that SOMEBODY would have wrung it out by now. . .

    Newbie dumb question...What is S197

S srands for 'sport'. 197 is the project number. It has no real significance other than being a sequential number (EVERY project that anyone at ford dreams up gets a number, only a few ever come to fruition. Thats why SN95 seems to be directly followed by S197.) N stands for North America...

    Should I wait for 2006??

The only major changes are the availability of the vert and the 18" wheels, both of which are actually 2005.5 introductions. They'll probably fix a bunch of small problems that are never publicized, and delete a bunch of content to reduce cost (again, this won't be publicized, and they won't...

    Alighnemt with H&R SS

Production tolerances vary . . . you're one of the lucky ones. The other benefit is that the good CC plates (if not all of them) use a spherical bearing in place of the stock rubber mount to maintain correct alignment under all conditions. You get a bit of extra road noise and harshness, but...

    Best wax for black paint?

Joestang . . . no biggie, just checking Twogts4us . . . My primary concern is speed, hence the 400rwhp. I drive the HELL out of my car, probably harder than most on this board. But I also take pride in how it looks. A fast car that looks like ****nit is almost as bad as a slow car that's...

Test drove a 2003 GT and

Sure, they are quick enough to be lots of fun, and they can be modded to be very quick.

    Was that sarcastic?

    Alighnemt with H&R SS

The alignment on our cars is adjusted by sliding the upper strut mount fore/aft or side to side in order to get the strut at the proper angle. Lowering the car changes the suspension geometry so that the stock mount does not have enough range of adjustment to get it back to the correct...

    Best wax for black paint?

I've used Zaino the past 3 years, but I tried NXT this year. Here's my summary: I used each product and prepped the car EXACTLY as the mfg suggested, using all the supporting products from the same manufacturer (including the dawn to strip the surface and the respective clay bars.) Both...

Test drove a 2003 GT and

A stock GT really isn't a super fast car in the grand scheme of things. It's torquey and punchy, but really its just enough to stay ahead of the lower end japanses sports cars that are out now. Plus, pretty much every car south of a Viper needs to be driven right to truly FEEL fast to the...

Car maybe totaled, what to replace it with?

Pretty much whatever I decide on is going to get a small shot of gas for "emergencies."

Car maybe totaled, what to replace it with?

I just don't like the idea of replacing an old-ish car that needs some work (my 98) with an oldER car that needs MORE work that is LESS fast and not "nice" (read: older NSX or Viper). I might consider it if there was a spec MR2 class that was cheap and competitive like the miata. I put my...

Car maybe totaled, what to replace it with?

That is a pretty dumb reason to do an engine swap. By that logic, all the Cobra owners on this board should swap for a 2V, or better yet, a V6.

Car maybe totaled, what to replace it with?

I do like the new Legacy GT, and I LOVE the G35 coupe (I've driven several G35's, 2 and 4 drs), but neither of those are not track-oriented enough for me to consider as a replacement for my Mustang. Those ARE on my short list to replace the Fiance's Saab next year. I'm going to have to agree...
