    Cam Question....(another One).

I agree but those aftermarket aluminum ones are no cheap date. I'm thinking the Explorer is the way to go. I haven't looked into it too much since I'm just getting to that part of the motor but is it a straight across swap? I'd love it if it was as easy as swapping stock heads but I'm sure...

    Cam Question....(another One).

Got ya....what are your thoughts on home porting the stock heads for a little more gain? Worth it or no...I don't mind pulling them off and taking a Dremel to 'em. Matter of fact, I have a spare pair sitting around I could port and throw on there.

    Cam Question....(another One).

So as a for instance, you sig shows a 12.34 second car at 117mph....out of curiosity, what does that have done to it?

    Cam Question....(another One).

Shortly after posting this, I did more reading and kind of came to the same conclusion. I've seen pretty much the same thing with the rollers, on a stock motor they're not much of a difference. It sounds like the time to do all this to see the most benefit if after doing a head swap.

    Cam Question....(another One).

I know it seems like there's a zillion cam threads out there but they all seem to have their own opinions and a lot of them seem to be tailored for bigger and built motors. I've got a stock 5 liter. I just changed all the lifters, push rods, and rockers...all stock replacements. I figure I...

    Control Arm Suggestions.

Hello, I'm looking for a set of rear control arms for my 92. The budget is $200. I'd like to avoid the set that you see AM and Late Model selling for around $140. Something just looks a little "rough" to me about them. Maybe it's the fact that they go for $140 while other brands cost that much...

    Engine Rebuild Question.

So I have a spare 5L out of a 90 car. The engine ran fine when it became a spare. I want to do a very mild rebuild. It will be the first time I'm working on internals and I have a couple of questions. My main thing is what do I absolutely have to do in order to get it back together properly...

    Check Engine Question.

Car is a 92 for what it's worth. So I'm going through the thing and wanting to delete unnecessary stuff. I'm I'm CA but I'm not worried about emissions, consider it a "track car" for the purpose of this conversation. Every time I look up deleting something (currently EGR and charcoal canister)...

No Start After T5 Swap...neutral Switch Jumped.

So just got done with a T5 swap. No plug or coil wires are connected. I just wanted to see if the starter will crank. It doesn't. When I turn the key you just hear a clicking noise over from the starter side and nothing else. The neutral safety switch is jumped. It acts as if the battery has too...

Kind of confused, sorry about that. Can you give me a little more detail?

    Deleting Smog Stuff...

I have "connections" when it comes to SMOG passing for lack of a better term. The car probably won't pass anyway so I figure I might as well pull the clutter off. For what it's worth, I'm not trying trying to start an argument I'm just asking if I'm missing something as to why people buy the...

    Deleting Smog Stuff...

Nothing really broken except that dented cat I was going to take out. Figured if I'm pulling the cats might as well pull the pump. I'm not worried about the stinking car, I'm in California, we have enough laws about that...One guy breaking them is not the end of the world.

Finishing Up T5 Swap....couple Questions For The Odds And Ends. Help Appreciated :)

Got a new pilot bushing in there, thank you. Wiring was cake, literally, unplug and plug back in :) One question though....all I did was connect the reverse light plug (two prong) and the cable that goes in next to the speedo cable. If haven't done anything with the safety switch at the pedal...

    Deleting Smog Stuff...

Some backstory....pulled my full Flowmaster kit off a car I wrecked and bent the firewall. When I did that, the control arm kicked back and dented one of the 4 cats on the CA legal kit. I cut the cat off to remove the exhaust which is going on a new car. I plan to cut off the cat and just run...

    Removing Fuel Tank Straps.

I've seen that, doesn't talk about removing the side of the straps I'm talking about.

    Removing Fuel Tank Straps.

So I've heard that they're just held in by tension? I'm trying to take the stock straps out. They look riveted in...I want to reuse them. I can drill them out but how do I reattach them? Any help is appreciated, all I need to do is get a tank in this thing and it's ready to fire up.

Finishing Up T5 Swap....couple Questions For The Odds And Ends. Help Appreciated :)

Alright so I've been messing with this on the weekends and after work evening for just about a month. Doing it all on my back so it's extra fun...lol. Anyway, today I pulled the AOD out. I should mention I have a 5spd donor car, so anything I might need is available. The AOD is out and the T5...

Can I Use A Column From A 5 Spd In An Auto?

Thanks guys! The wiring is what's confusing. One car is a 90 the other a 92. Do I need to swap computers? I have all the wiring for both cars, what do I actually need to swap?

Can I Use A Column From A 5 Spd In An Auto?

I'm doing a trans swap and using a 5 sod donor car for all the parts. The wheel on the donor car is in better shape than the new car. Since I have the columns out to pull the pedal assemblies anyway, can I interchange them? I don't have a steering wheel puller and figured this is easier.

    Pulling Trans, Quick Question.

I guess I'm just going to have to pick up an extractor kit....this thing is just way too rounded off. I got the 4 bolts holding the trans to the bell off today....Damon things were worse than the drive shaft bolts. Once I get the bell off, I can move on to tearing the AOD out of the other car...
