I appreciate the input. Was test firing the engine for mine on the bench and had a much deeper thought than I should have. Lol. Just looked at it and thought "hmm. That's wasted torque!" Highdeas huh? :ack::cookie:

So I know that everyone loves to watch your engine twist when you hit that gas. It just speaks raw power. But when I look at that I see potentially wasted torque. Is there a concrete reason why someone couldn't brace your engine and tranny so that they can't twist and flex so that all of that...

UPDATE: starter shim from advanced auto parts for 15.99. solved all my problems. feeling pretty dumb now....

Appreciate that tim. What I had to end up doing is drilling the ear on my remanned starter so I can push it closer to the flywheel. add a couple of lock washers and its gravy. a starter now lasts me about 3 weeks, but at least now it starts every time while its there, lol. funny you should...

Thanks Cobra, My local parts store has no earthly idea, i DO have that metal plate, I believe my flywheel is a 157 tooth, i dont think my motor came out of a II, (Mine wasnt a factory eight as far as i know) but i did pull the codes off the bottom of the block (d90e-6015-e3a) I got it started...
