    O2 Replacement.

The passenger one is a bit of a PITA to replace. I ended up with the O2 tool, connected to a 3/8 extension, to a 3/8-1/2" adapter, to a 12 inch exetension, to the ratchet drive, with a pipe over that for leverage.

    Fuel Fuel Filler Neck Gasket

I would remove it. It might jam up the sender unit. It should not be too difficult to remove it. If it is too large to fit through the opening, bend up a cat hanger and get it out.

    O2 Replacement.

I offset the cuts from each other so that they are not all lined up against each other, and put shrink tubing on the individual wires. I then put the sheathing that came with the wires over them all. But, I should not have to do this. The part was wrong, and RockAuto denied having responsibility...

    3.8l V6 Cel P0174

The silver can thing is attached to another canister associated with the AC in my 98. P0174 usually measn to clean your MAF

    O2 Replacement.

I would like to retract my wholehearted endorsement of RockAuto.com. I ordered my O2 sensors from them. The ones I got had 18" of wire, while the originals had 4". These sensors go in the exhaust header, with very little room to spare. With 18", the wires will eventually contact either the hot...

Electrical '03 V6 5sp With Alternator Or Voltage Regulator Probs

My alternator made a few intermittent problems like that, and then it died. The regulator is built-in to it.

    '96 3.8 V6 Exhaust Stud Positions Please?

I kinda forgot which ones went where on mine, but it hardly makes any difference. The only things that will matter is the dipstick has a flange to go under one, and if I recall, there is a flange for a fuel rail or something on the passenger side. Its a PITA to get to them, so anything that...

    O2 Replacement.

Not sure about the 2000, but my '98 does not look hard. Up on ramps, get 'em from below. Get (or borrow for free from Autozone) the O2 tool. Sensors are about $26 each from Rockauto.

    2001 Door Hinge Pin Replacement

Getting them from the dealer is the easiest, and you are pretty sure they will fit. I only had to drill out my MR2 one because the stealership price was stupid, and the Chryler one from NAPA was about $2.99.

    2001 Door Hinge Pin Replacement

I have no experience with the Mustang doors, but I did replace one on my 87 MR2. NAPA had a good selection of pins. ( The MR2 used a Chrysler pin, and I had to drill out the hinge, per an MR2 website)

Electrical Dying Starter? Or Something Else?

The sychronizer is at the top front of the engine, on top of the timing cover. It goes in a hole that would have been used for a distributor in an older design. It sends a timing signal so that the injectors fire at the right time. Google "mustang v6 synchronizer". There is a lot of...

Electrical Dying Starter? Or Something Else?

I have read the it is pretty common for the synchronizer to fail after 120K miles. The synchronizer times the injectors, and it seems that you might have a fuel issue...

Electrical Help. Problem With 2000 V6 Convertible

Another option to read the current, is to use a resistor. I have access to lots of resistors, so it was easy for me. I twisted 5, 5 ohm resistors together, to make a 1 ohm resistor. Then undo one terminal, touch the resistor to the terminal and the battery, and read the voltage across the...

    Misaligned Windows?

I had issues with a gap towards the top of my passenger window. I ended up taking the upper stop for the rear of the window out, and gluing in a shim, so that it would stop a bit lower. I also had to dremel out the slot, so that I could pull in the window a bit, along with adding a washer to the...

New '98 'vert Owner, Water In Oil

Purchased a 98 convertible 3.8 with water in the oil for a cheap price. 128K+ miles (broken odo gear). Top is only 1.5 yrs old. Straight, fairly clean body, somewhat faded (laser red?) paint. Turned out to be intake manifold gaskets - lower intake manifold was not torqued adequately - not much...
