    New Problem With 65

It's pretty hot for older engines that were designed to run on leaded fuel. Modern engines are designed to run much hotter for emissions reasons. They also have higher quality pistons, rings, and hardened valve seats to tolerate the much higher combustion temps associated with unleaded fuel...

    2002 Convertible Question

I just bought a 2002 GT convertible that is really nice. One of the few flaws is a rust spot on the top piece that seals against top of the windshield. It is really only visible when the top is down, but it is bugging me. I looked at a handful of cars and they all had these spots to varying...

Default 67 Fastback: First Time Buyer. Where Do I Start?

Actually the 80's 5.0 HO or 302 as it's also commonly known is a good thing. It will have much more torque and horsepower, as well as hardened valve seats which are much better for today's unleaded fuel than 60's vintage engines. It also has electronic ignition. Again, a massive improvement over...

    T5 Issues After Efi Swap

If the engine is from a 91 T-Bird, where did the intake, wire harness, and ECM come from? I am definitely not as familiar with the T-Bird as I am with the Fox, but the Tbird ECM would be for an automatic. I don't know why, but if your ECM isn't from a manual transmission it can cause problems...

    T5 Issues After Efi Swap

The E303 cam uses the 5.0 HO/351W firing order 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. Which is different than the standard 302/289. Also you mentioned you added a stock flywheel and clutch. The 5.0 HO uses a 50 oz balance instead of a 28 oz balance of the standard 302/289. The harmonic balancer and flywheel both need...

    Conversion Questions And 302 Question

If you are thinking of using a later model 302 there are a few things to consider. If you get a 302 from a late model thunderbird, or 94-95 mustang you will need to switch the oil pan, and oil pump pick up to a vintage front sump pan. Also the timing cover, water pump, and front accessories...

Can You Guys Help Me Identify This?

I bought this from a guy on eBay. It's just like the plaque off a 93 Mustang Cobra, except it doesn't have the cut out for the intake manifold bolt. I've never seen another one like it, and in can't find any info on the net. I was hoping one of you guys could help me out. Thanks.

Help With An Upcoming 1970 Fastback Project

There are tons of resto mod parts out there to make a classic mustang more modern. You didn't mention what engine is currently in your car, but from a fitment standpoint a 4.6 or coyote 5.0 would be much tougher to install than a fox body 5.0 HO from an 87-93 mustang along with the 5 speed or...

    302 Efi Hood Clearance

I'm not sure about the fit, that's why I quoted the info from Ron Morris. I guess what I was getting at is if you get it in there and it doesn't fit under the hood one option would be to use shorter efi valve covers, and take the spacer out to get a little extra room to clear the hood.

    302 Efi Hood Clearance

According to Ron Morris Performance who specializes in EFI conversions the stock 87-93 5.0 intake is 11 inches tall. The 94-95 intake is 9.5 inches tall. The 95-01 Explorer intake is 11.5 inches tall. I would assume the tubular GT-40 and the 93 Cobra would be similar in height to the Explorer...

Classic Mustang For My Husband - Questions....

I am pretty sure that 351W or Windsor, was not available in 73' only 351 available was 351C or Cleveland. If the engine code is F it would be a 302, which looks very similar to. 351W. I don't want to be a source of more misinformation, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ford...

    68 Cougar Engine Swap

An AOD from a fox Mustang should be cheap and plentiful, and the swap parts are readily available. I am by no means an AOD expert, so I'm not sure if an AOD from a Crown Vic for instance is physically the same as the fox version. I would imagine they are, but I would consult someone much more...

Newbie Seeks Advice On Clutch Setup

As I said using a fox clutch fork is not really an option unless you want to switch the whole car including the bellhousing to a cable clutch set up. Even then you still have a problem because the fox t-5 has a longer input shaft than your top loader therefore the fox bellhousing is deeper and...

Newbie Seeks Advice On Clutch Setup

First of all I hope your kidding about modding a car as valuable as a Shelby. Second, you can't just use the fox clutch fork. The z bar pushes the clutch fork toward the rear of the car. The fox uses a cable clutch with a t-5 specific bellhousing, which pulls the clutch fork forward. These guys...
