    Check your cooling fan plug. I had one melt a little and cause it to not turn on and exhibited the symptoms you were experiencing. I cleaned the female contacts in the plug and the problem disappeared.

    I never noticed ball bearings. It has only 118k on it. Not enough to warrant that many TOBs! Good luck!

    I had the same problem with my 98. The cooling fan was not turning on. I checked the fan itself, and it was fine. It turned out to be the plug terminals were not making good contact with the fan terminals. In my case I cleaned the female connectors inside the plug and cut some plastic away...

    LOL sorry for the confusion-new grommet, rtv where the filler neck meets the filler box (top of filler neck where the three screws go).

    Thanks for the video. Unfortunately the car in the video did not show how the gas cap tether is attached; it was already broken off. The vapor line also appears ok on mine.
