    Engine Engine rebuild suggestions

I’m enjoying this thread too. Reminds me of my first rebuild around 10 years ago. That was a simple rings, bearings, dingleball hone, gaskets rebuild. Got me a few years until I had the itch for moar powa. Current engine has a bored and align honed block, Ed cam, AFR’s and Tmoss ported Explorer...

    Engine Rocker arm

Are they Flotek heads? I had a set on a previous build that I could not get a centered or narrow sweep unless I had freakishly long (or short, my memory fails me) pushrods. I ended up replacing them with some AFR’s.

    Engine Vacuum question

Thanks. Yes I considered tapping for the vacuum branch, but couldn't because it ends up being too far back. My heads are nearly touching the firewall in this conversion. Parts are currently out for powdercoating, so I'll probably end up getting the little plastic tree to run brakes and EGR off...

    Engine Vacuum question

Thanks for the reply. I'll run FPR vacuum on it's own and tap vacuum for EGR off the Brakes or PCV vacuum line.

    Engine Vacuum question

The Corral couldn't help me, so I'm hoping Stangnet comes to the rescue. I’m switching to an Explorer intake on my current engine build. In my current configuration I only run PCV and Evap from the front side of the manifold. Brake booster, EGR and FPR off the rear of the manifold with the...

    A9l Questions

OK, I'll have to do a screenshot of that Autozone page. I couldn't understand why you couldn't see what I was seeing but once I clicked that link on a different computer I see that the page comes up differently. And yes, I do understand that the eec's are the same regardless of body style...

What is the difference between the second and third one on this page. They show the same specs. I see the convertable...

    A9l Questions

Sorry for the confusion. The swap is into a Miata. I didn't mention that as it is off topic and I've been asked to not post outside my build thread, but this is not really a question directly related to my swap. My mechanic buddy mentioned the convertible(5sp) EEC was more aggressive than the...

    A9l Questions

I'm looking for a A9L for my fox 302/T5 swap and see Autozone has quite a few different ones listed. A mechanic friend of mine says I should get the one for a 5 sp convertible as it has a slightly more aggressive timing curve vs the hatch. I think it was timing he said. Anyways, a quick search...

    5.0 Into Miata Conversion

Quick question regarding intake manifolds again. I've researched a bit and it appears the stock '94-95 HO intake is the shortest of the bunch. Can it be drilled for the IAT sensor? Remember I'm going with the A9L 'puter and harness. Otherwise I'll have to pick up an earlier GT40 intake with the...

    5.0 Into Miata Conversion

I have the car. Got a nice '90 base model with about 30k miles. Once I get the engine I'll post a "freshening up" thread. I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions as I go along with that. Plan is to put some miles on the car as is this year while I gather parts. Hopefully start the swap late...

    5.0 Into Miata Conversion

Total sleeper here. Even going with the stock daisy wheels for street use. Cowl hood totally lets the cat outta the bag. Would do that if I was going with a body though.

    5.0 Into Miata Conversion

The guide does actually call for milling .25 off the lower. But that's for the fox HO intake. Not sure if my sn95 would be the same height as that. Some pics I've seen make the later one look taller. Will likely just end up going with the earlier GT 40 intake anyways as a lot of the conversions...

    5.0 Into Miata Conversion

Kurt, that isn't the same as the explorer intake (gt40) right? Apparently that one will fit ok, and it seems cheap enough on ebay. It looks the same as what is on the '94 HO but I'm guessing it's different.

    5.0 Into Miata Conversion

Preparing to do a 5.0 swap into a Miata and need to know what is the lowest height intake lower and upper setup available? Preferably factory. Hood clearance is the issue. Thanks. Brad

    5.0 Into Miata Conversion

I'll be on the hunt for anything if this deal falls through so I'll keep that in mind. This is sounding pretty good though and it's fairly local to me. So excuse all the questions-I have a lot to learn about the 5.0 snd have been reading lots. The plan for now is to get this engine and do a...
