WTB/Trade Front seats in tan leather

I don't have what you need, but the 99-up "tan" isn't the same shade as 94-98. They won't match your rear seat. The 94-98 color is called "saddle." I'm not sure what the actual name is for 99-up. I'm kind of in the same boat as you, but I only need the driver's seat.

    TKO or T45?

I have a T45 in my 96 Cobra and hate it. I wouldn't put a T45 in anything I want to drive. I thik when my car hits 45-50K miles, if the T45 is still alive, I'll swap it out for a T56. There's no way I would put a T45 OR a T5, even built units, behind an FE motor.

    ENGINE LOCATION?

If you don't want to go to the expense of the adjustable motor mounts, just put a washer or two between the block and the motor mounts.

    Toploader 4-Speed

It's not original for a 65 Mustang, but it'll work. Don't forget you need the four-speed speedo gear. The three-speed gear won't work.

    Can't identfy vibration

What flexplate did you use? The swap requires a conversion type flexplate because the 5.0 that the AOD came from and your 289 are not balanced the same. The C4 flexplate won't bolt up to the AOD converter. The AOD flexplate will bolt right up to your 289 crank, BUT will cause vibration due to...

THE DEPTH OF A 1969 351W WP PULLEY

I'm guessing you have a 70-up water pump. Nothin's going to line up until you get a matched set of pulleys, balancer and water pump.

    Bleeding 9"

All nodular cases have fill holes in them. I suggest as the others, shorten the hose and hook it back up as it was stock.

    What have I got - 1965 or 1966?

Mustangs didn' have the VIN on the dash until 68. The earlier cars can only be verified by the VIN on the fender aprons. If that VIN matches your title, you have a 66. It does matter what parts you see on the vehicle. Most anything can be changed.

    confused about rear end

Either it's an open rear or a very worn posi. If the rear still has the metal ID tag still bolted to it, it might help figure out what's in it. Otherwise, you'll just have to pull an axle or the whole pumpkin.

    mustang trans plate

They're different. The AOD plate is a two-piece set. The T5 plate is one piece.

    Rearend Swap info - FAQ

I think it's a 6.75" rear. If you found the correct gasket for it, you should be able to tell what cover you need. Don't expect to find any aftermarket cover for it.

    2wd trucks for donor?

The C4 wasn't used in 84. If it's an automatic trans, it has to an AOD or a C6. The wheels on most 71 applications would be 14 inch unless the car was a big block or performance model.

    Help Decoding Differential Tag?

WDW-B. 3.00:1 open. According to my Hollander book, it's 66-69 Comet, Fairlane. The date code (7EB) makes it a May 1967 assembly.

    KNOTTS SHOW

Your car has to be in the show area before 10:00 AM. I don't really know about judging. I don't think they award tophies to the different classes. All I've ever seen has been a "Best Of Show" award to one vehicle. As far as I'm concerned, WHO CARES! I just go to see all the great cars. As far as...

OK, what is this 8" rear I have?

Looks like just another open rear to me. Either the seller had absolutely no clue what he had, or he outright lied to you. That's definitely not a Ford traction lok, and the only "4 pinion" 8 inch rears are aftermarket (which yours isn't). I seriously doubt it's even a 3.25 ratio. Send it back...

    8.8 rear end in a 65 mustang

I don't think anything will bolt right in, but there are a few options for mating the driveshaft to the rear. 1. You can use the stock Explorer flange (same as truck, van and full-size cars) but it has the largest diameter and allows the least tunnel clearance 2. You can swap to a smaller...

    8.8 rear end in a 65 mustang

When you narrow it this way, the rear ends up about 1/2" shorter than a stock 65-66 Mustang rear. Using late model wheels might be a problem unless you intall spacers.

    C4 BellHousing Question

The 157-tooth setup would be what you want. The 164-tooth would be a snug fit in a 65 and woulld definitely make for a tight fit for headers there. The 164-tooth version was used beginning in the late 60s in trucks, vans and larger Ford cars.

8.8 into 70 mustang driveshaft flange question

Don't know the answer to your question, but those yokes were used on a lot of Ford truck 8.8s. You should be able to find one in a junkyard and save yourself about $100.
