I have been looking at getting gears installed as well. Once shop wanted $150 for labor, and the other wanted $175 for labor. Both are reputable places.

Personally, Im partial the frpp gears so I would eith go with the 3.73 or step up to 4.10's. With the extra rpms before redline on the cobras the 4.10s would be perfect.

go check out http://www.modulardepot.com in the 2v section. There are several people that have done this swap, and several good threads on how to do it and possible problems that may occur. Over all it's a much better forum for tech stuff than stangnet is.

So we went to the dyno today and I pulled 186.7 hp and 249.8 tq on the first run. We decided to take out the air silencer and see what happens. Took the silencer off, and pulled 171.1 hp and 229 tq. Just to see if we got a bad dyno run we tried again. Same results, still way down on hp. We...

yep, if I remember correctly it was just over 2k when I priced it. One major downside though is if you decided to go with a headswap later on, the blower is usless since it matches to the non pi ports. I'll get the part numbers tongiht if anyone wants to price it.

Yes, but if you can in fact upgrade it by getting another pully, it may be worth it for those that do not wish to do a head swap. It at least gives you the added benefit of getting rid of the crappy plastic intake. I would be with one of these upgraded, some p & p heads, and some aftermarket...

If it's anything like mine, which I would bet they are exactly alike, then 20 minutes is being generous. The bottom section of the rear seats comes out independently of the top part, and actually does not have any bolts holding it in. All together I can get the entire rear seat, top and bottom...

For $1000 you should definitely be able to do all of those. You can the gears from http://www.gefracing.com for 139.99 plus get the install kit that comes with all the needed bearings for like $80. Might as well replace them while they are in there. Should be able to get the gears done for...

Be carefull though, while the s/c is around 1100 or 1200, I believe the install kit is an extra 900

You guys are forgetting a few minor details here. He didnt say what year mustng was running 13.7 with the s/c. If it was a 96-98 the gain is going to be much more significant. 60 hp , for a 96 to 98 gt, isnt bad at all for 1100. The only other option for the same hp range would be a head swap...

It will sound like crap. Just spend the money on some decent mufflers, and get you an h pipe or an x pipe. The car will sound good then. Also, running no mufflers on my car seemd to hurt performance.
