Progress Thread Deals are still out there.

Well glad the hoist didn’t mess up your car. Just me but as soon as you get it running take it to a muffler shop and have them weld those subframe connectors in. The bolt in style don’t offer a lot of stiffness.

    No volt reference?

I doubt ECU Exchange will answer the phone but I’ve never tried. Did you send it off to them and have questions or just want to ask them questions to see if you can determine if it needs to be gone through? Of it’s the latter I can tell you it won’t hurt to just send it as pretty much everyone...

Drivetrain Broken clutch cable- what it looks like

Is your motor set back? Only asking as I have firewall adjusters on both cars one with a 8.2 deck motor and the other with a 9.5 deck motor. Neither is set back (both have the ability to be set back) and both have SN95 / 93 style boosters.

Drivetrain Broken clutch cable- what it looks like

I’ve run the Steeda adjustable cables for years now on both cars. The only issue I had was my own fault of running one on the T-Bird without header wrap as it’s way too close to the custom long tubes.

    No volt reference?

I believe you need to test between the ground and the 5V reference at the device. Using a chassis ground doesn’t really work. Found this thread that may help you. Post in thread 'Tps Troubles. Low Voltage At The Vref Or Org/wht Wire.'...

Leak from tail shaft after 2 new seals

Noobz...this is the tail housing to drive shaft yolk seal on a transmission so what's up with the pinion seal link?

    Brake pad and rotor upgrade

8 years is a long to for brake fluid to sit. I typically flush fluid about every 5 years but that it me and it carried over from helping my buddy road race. The hard pedal sounds like a vacuum issue to me. End of a pass you are up in the rpm's and not making much of any vacuum so if the...

    Brake pad and rotor upgrade

First thing I would look at is the hard pedal. Typically with brake fad the pedal will just go to the floor. Almost sounds like the booster is suspect but it could be the master cylinder. Have you checked the brake fluid i.e. when is the last time you flushed the brakes? As far as staying 4...

    Overheating!

Maybe take some pictures or upload a video of what is going on to YouTube and post a link. You need to provide as much information as you possibly can. We are not there so seeing pictures and videos really help. Other questions: Is the car stock? If not what has been done if you know. How many...

Leak from tail shaft after 2 new seals

Use some RTV like this one: https://www.permatex.com/products/gasketing/gasket-makers/specialty-gasket-makers/permatex-automatic-transmission-rtv-gasket-maker-3-oz/ If that doesn’t work it may take a new tail housing.

Brakes 80 Mustang 4.2 rear chassis brake line for 5 lug conversion!

You will need to switch to the 86-93 brake line from the firewall to the rear of the car which is the intermediate line. You will also need the bracket and fitting that attaches to the body of the car above the rear end. LMR sells the bracket and fitting...

Drivetrain Broken clutch cable- what it looks like

Both are a common failure. I will say it’s rare to see a plastic quadrant on one of these cars as they are literally 33 to 47 years old.

Progress Thread 1989 LX 5.0 convertible - mild project

Being I switched heads and the cam when I went to the RPM II it’s impossible to say. The RPM II is rated for a higher rpm the the RPM intakes. I knew I was going to build a stroker so I bought once and cried once.

Progress Thread No Clear 92 (Lack of) Progress thread

Tensioner may be shot. I ended up getting one from the parts store that someone returned all hacked up but the second one from RockAuto worked great I did replace the pulley it came with with a steel one. Post in thread 'Serpentine belt squeal after reinstall?'...

Progress Thread 1989 LX 5.0 convertible - mild project

With the aluminum heads, cam and exhaust you need to stay with the Edelbrock intake as the GT40 will hold the combo back especially if you have decent rear gears. I had two 306’s with the following builds: Ported iron DOZZ heads, Porter Cobra upper and lower, and Comp Cams cam - 250ish rwhp &...

The Edelbrock one you have will outperform it. Unless you need an intake why swap a 3550 for it? The 3550 is worth more than the intake any day of the week. I’d hold on to the trans and find a buyer as you will get more money that way. Just my .02.
