    This doesnt look natural...

No it doesnt. I was talking about Compustar's remote start. On their unit it needs to see that the car is in park using a ground connection before it will activate. What you did is fine, so long as you remember to flip the switch. You can use a relay to send out a trigger that will...

    This doesnt look natural...

Use a compustar remote starter if you are putting it on a manual, because they have a neutral safety switch built in. Then you need to hook it up to the parking brake for your ground. The easy way to get around the clutch is to just connect the two wires for the clutch switch and the car will...

    Sneaky Pete...is it worth it?

I have been thinking about it too, but only because I bracket. Im not looking for faster ET's, I just need a little insurance. Say I have a bad 60ft or I am a little late/early on a shift and got out of my powerband. I want a little something that I can spray after the 1000ft mark just in case I...

    removing head studs

Another way is to use a jam nut. Basically you thread two nuts onto the stud and tighten the top one while holding on to the bottom one, so it doesnt try to move furthert down the stud. Once they are nice and snug together, you can take a wrench and loosen the bottom nut and the stud will come...

    drag suspension

I have a Mach 1 with a stock rearend, M/T ET Streets and Lakewood 90/10's up front and 50/50's out back. I come out of the hole at 4K. I pull consistant 1.80's and 1.75 is my best short time. I had heard that the strut/shock combo would suck on the street, but I never noticed a major differance...

    Will a trac-loc for a '98 work in an '03

Well, heres what happened. I broke the spider gears in my Mach and a friend of mine had 2 brand new assembled carriers that he had for his and his wifes car. So I ended up just putting his spider/side gears in my trac-loc on a friday night, so I didnt have to miss points the next day. On my 3rd...

    Will a trac-loc for a '98 work in an '03

Will a trac-loc from a 96-98 stang wok in an '03? I just want to know before I go and bolt it in. I needed a new trac-loc and I got this one for free, but I am not sure if the housings are the same for the two. Thanks for the help Chris

    Idle all over the place

Mine does this too, but I have a theory. When you get a chance, start your car and let it idle for 15min, before you drive it/move it or even press on the gas. If I do this, mine will not search for an idle, but if I just start it up and start driving, the idle will be all over the place. I...

    Modular Q

I think that you guys are looking at the facts wrong. It's not that holding a gear longer is better because you make more power in that gear than you will in the next. Holding a gear a little longer SOMETIMES puts you in the powerband for the next gear. Hear is a table, using the above dyno for...

Better 1/4's..more HP, or TQ...this may be dumb..

I think the only thing missed is power under the curve. That is what is most important. I work for a dyno and have seen 9.9x cars weighing 3000#'s putting down only 400rwhp. These kind of cars have awesome power bands and thats part of the reason they get down the track fast. An S2000 has...

My timing is out of whack

My car started acting up the other day and heres whats going on. It starts and idles fine when its a cold start, but then when it gets warm after some driving, the idle changes to 1100rpm. I reflashed it with the stock tune and unhooked the battery for a while to try and reset the EEC. It was...

    Friends car, disapointed track day

It could be your driving. I'm not trying to say that you are a bad driver, but I would say that your just not that experienced at track. I am saying this based on your reaction times and 60ft times. In that car a good driver should be cutting .0xx lights and 1.8-1.9s short times, since you...

I guess when I snap an axle , it will give me a reason to build it. Thanks for the heads up though.

    New 275/40/r17BFG radials, kills nittos

Sign me up then. I've got 4.30's waiting to install come spring time, and I'm looking for something to help me hook at the track...and occasionally get put on for the friday night encounters. Chris

    New 275/40/r17BFG radials, kills nittos

Sorry to jack your thread, but has anybody tried the Mickey Thompson drag radials (ET Street ?). My buddy put them on his GTO that runs 11.9's and said they hooked better than any non-slick that he ever tried. Its winter time right now in Detroit, so i figure that its a good time to spend money...

what is causing my car to have extended crank?

i kinda have the same problem with my car. i think it just loses fuel pressure quickly after shutdown. it never happens if i turn the key to run for a couple of seconds and let the fuel pump cycle to build some pressure. just my .02

    Window Sticker?

I work for a GM dealership (i know :notnice: ), and the sales department can order new window stickers for like $50. i assume Ford might be the same. Go to a dealership, then beg and plead with the sales manager.
