Actually I used the SCT dealer search and MC Racing here in KC has the capability as well, so I'll just run over there when I scrape up some bucks!

Is the dyno in St. Louis called Apten? If I go this route, and get the car dyno tuned in St. Louis will I have to retune the car once I get a Plenum, cams, and PP heads? Will he be able to Take off my EGR code, my rear 02's, and bump my timing to my desired needs? If you don't know, just...

Hmm... Wanna hook me up? I'd drop that in a flash if I could have a blown car with a conservative tune!!! 800 is too much for the package.... plus you have to have a laptop to plug into the ECM. Would a mail order chip give me a A/F straight across the board around 13:1??

I think I would like to go with something that I can tune the car with personally. This way, further down the road if I get my heads PP and Stage 2 cams in, I will be able to reburn a chip without the hassle of mailing one off to get a new burn on it. What are my options if I want to go this...

Please enlighten me on what you all call a good tune, and how would I go abouts getting one? I take it you aren't referring to a mail order chip, but a custom dyno tune? Would it be possible for me to tune the car myself? What if I decide to put cams in down the road in 6 mos.?? Can I...

    Noise from T-56... TOB?

Its practically brand new, I think we might have installed it wrong after the trans went back in.. Anyone know how long it will last or if the ticking will just be annoying and the car won't get hurt from it?

    Noise from T-56... TOB?

When I am at idle (the only time I can hear anything) when I put the transmission in neutral, and let off of the clutch there is a very distinctive and repetitive clicking noise coming from my shift boot. The deal is, when I push the clutch pedal back in, the noise stops. Anybody know if...

    Romped on new engine..... trouble!

Doh, I'll probably not buy one and just set my timing through a tune or via a tweecer or SCT chip. I'm just happy it was only the TA, hell I won't mind running stock timing again with gas prices the way they are right now :rlaugh: 87 here I come!

    Romped on new engine..... trouble!

Found the culprit My Steeda Timing Adjuster cracked where the "key" on the TA is supposed to lock into place on the crank pulley. I purged fuel from the fuel rail so I knew I had fuel, Also poured some gas in the tank in case it was low. Also a tale-tale sign of timing being off is air...

    Romped on new engine..... trouble!

Thanks for the comments, keep them coming I've also been told to check fuel pressure in case the pump went out, or it could be a MAF related problem. Hopefully this is something minor and not a snapped timing chain or something worth burning the car over :D

    Romped on new engine..... trouble!

I wanted to see what the new 01 GT Engine had in it since I just got through installing it. The motor has 10K miles already on it, so there was no need for a break in period. I drove it around for 50 trouble free miles around town and decided to see what it had in 3rd gear. I mashed the...

Hot Rod /Motor Trend Threads In here

Is the only difference in engine design the 3 valve heads? If so, could any current 2V swap heads/cams/intake to the 3V design and pick up monster horse?

New Motor is in, but. . .

The Steeda pulley from my 96 that I tried to put on the WP stuck out too far, I suppose I'll need to get ahold of Steeda and tell them I need the WP Pulley for an 02-03??? Why do you think a stock sized belt will work? Is the Stock WP Pulley the same size as the Steeda WP pulley? I don't...

New Motor is in, but. . .

I've been working on putting a 2001 SOHC 4.6L into my 96 over the past 2 months in my free time. Tonite I finally got to start it! My tech question is: I didn't have the right size belt though, I used the 01 Water Pump, and my Steeda water pump pulley was sticking out too far. So I used the...
