Door lock switch has no power

jrichkr, can you post up the wiring diagram for the 1979's? The door locks on my '79 Cobra started acting up last summer. The passenger side one became very sluggish and I thought that the actuator may be freezing up. Eventually it stopped working. This summer, the driver's one just stopped...

    5.0 BADGE

I believe that the 5.0 badge made it's debut on the 1982 Mustang GT's. I've seen FORD factory promo pictures of the 5.0 installed on some '79's but they never made it into the production runs. In '80 and '81, the 5.0 liter wasn't available and was replaced by the 4.2 liter 255 V-8. In '82, the...

Lets see pictures of projector headlights

Now that's the way to go! I'm not a fan of the aftermarket kits but if something like that were to come about, I'd buy them in a heartbeat for my '89 LX. How did you do that?

anyone with two tone paint jobs on their Foxes

All '79 Cobra's were painted in two tone except for the Black ones. Here's mine in the Original Red/Black and the repaint with Yellow/Black.

    Show off your stang

Nice looking cars everyone! I've seen 69Clark's Pace Car in person and it's AWESOME!:nice: Here's a few new pic's of mine. EDIT: Here's a couple of pictures of my "new" daily driver. It's my '89 LX 5.0/5-speed/3.73's. On the interior pic, I've since replaced the seat...

New Purchase, why the car sits!

Congrats on the house Brian! It looks really nice. Don't worry about the clown who was all over you because you didn't pay for it in cash. NOBODY pays for a house in cash unless they're loaded and the last time I looked, all working class people have to finance their house. One thing that you...

BEFORE you butcher a 4 eye... (56k beware)

You be the judge. Which one is more aggressive, my '79 or my '89? Personally, I like them both but the '79 has more classy styling and isn't as generic looking. I also think it looks more aggressive!

    Try My FoxBody Quiz!!!

Nice quiz! I got 9 out of 10 correct. I missed the engines that were available in the '79's. It's ironic that I own a '79 too!

    82 hoods?!

Are you sure that it'll fit the '79-'82 front end and cowl grill? The '79-'82 hoods are different than the '83-'84 and the '85-'86 style hoods. Also, the body lines on the '79-'82 hoods match up with the cowl grill and nose pieces of the '79-'82's, both of which are different than the later...

Congrats 25thmustang! April 2009 FOTM winner!

Congrats Brian! For those of you who haven't seen his car in person, it looks even nicer than the pictures show. It looks even better when it's burning down the 1320!:D

BEFORE you butcher a 4 eye... (56k beware)

Brian, If I'm not mistaken, the owner of this car put a stock Lincoln Navigator 5.4 Liter engine in it but without fuel injection. I believe it has a Spider type intake manifold on it with a single four barrel carburetor. The engine's internals were stock and first time out at the track it ran...

BEFORE you butcher a 4 eye... (56k beware)

Save as many of these foureyes as possible! I've never understood the aero conversion. To me, it's like changing a 1969 Mustang by putting a 1970 nose on it. Keep the foureyes a foureye and keep the aero's an aero! By the way, I also like aero's.:)

    A 5.0 or a 5.8 foundation..

I'd shoot for a 331 or a 347. In naturally aspirated form, a 331 will take you into the low to mid 11's and the 347 will take you into the 10's. Of course, that's if everything else is up to par and it's built/tuned right. Building the 351W into a stroker is fine too but you'll have to change...

Congrats on the win! It's a beautiful car.:hail2:

    Stang was on the dyno!

It should be a solid 11 second car. To me, that's excellent for a street car!

BFG G-Force T/A's vs MT ET Streets

I like the B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's (not drag radials) for the street because they produce a nice smooth ride. I won't use the ET Streets on the pavement because if I get a nail in them, I can't go racing! Plus, they have a tendency to sway because there's no steel belts inside of them. Also...
