    Idle issue after plenum/tb install

i don't know about your specific throttle body, but most aftermarket tb's DO NOT have the small hole drilled in the throttle blade like the stock tb's do. it may seem small, but after doing 3-4 of these myself, i found that idle quality improves significantly when i drill the hole. food...

    Piece of sh_t mustangs.

i'm on my 8th mustang. the only part failure in ANY of them has been the distributor in my '95 gt. never stranded, just started acting funny. sorry, i'm not buying the reliability thing.

    Gear question about 99 GT

all 99's were 35th anniversary cars, but there are 35th anniversary "limited edition" cars, and even the vin is different. i have one in my garage. the differences: hood scoop, with black stripe only up to the scoop. honey comb rear panel on trunk lid flush rocker panels rear brake scoops...

    New dyno numbers

this is not a flame by any means, but i'm very surprised at how much variance there is in 4.6's. my first 99 gt was 219hp/269tq, stock down to the paper filter. not too impressive. my current 99, a 35th anniversary, put up 237hp/280tq with only a k&n filter. both 5 speeds, both on dynojets...

    please help 4.6 rod knock!!

if you really have a rod knock, and the engine is on it's last leg, i don't think it's time to freak out. 4.6 engines are not terribly expensive. go to places like www.car-parts.com, www.stangparts.com, and maybe a few others. you'll find engines for less than a grand with reasonable milage...

    noise in valvetrain

i'm with you...valvetrain noise in a 32v is always present anyway, but this sounds like there is a slight misadjustment. the lash adjusters themselves aren't such a big job, it's the removal of the brake mastercylinder and such. sea foam has actually been around a long time. it's in a white...

    noise in valvetrain

my 98 cobra has 43k miles on it. it has lived an easy life, except the previous owner did NOT change the oil very often, evidenced by the syrup-like oil i drained out of it. now, there is a "noisy lifter" sound on the drivers side, cylinder 5. tapping just under the cam cover, goes away by...

    Should i get a 5.8 litre?

wow, i'm very interested in the 351 idea.... did you have to use custom brackets for accessories? did you use a taller hood? different headers? different h-pipe? thanks for the info, man.

How much better are the gt-40p than the gt-40 heads?

he was comparing gt-40's with p's. so was i, soooooo............... p's have a smaller combustion chamber than gt-40's. 61cc vs. 65.5cc. VISUALLY, the p's have a hard time passing. you have to rig the air tube. emissions-wise, you don't need a smog pump to pass a sniffer test. the run...

How much better are the gt-40p than the gt-40 heads?

well, they may not be better. P's: 1. have a smaller combustion chamber. 2. have better low-lift flow numbers. 3. flow numbers level at .500 lift. 4. need different headers. long tubes are usually ok, but lots of shorties have trouble with plug and plug wire interference. 5. you...

Fuel pressure numbers are in! Bad or good?

before i changed engines, i couldn't run anything above 10* of timing without ping. there was a particularly bad spot, RIGHT at 4000rpm, like TACK-TACK-TACK, then it was over, as if the computer had jacked the timing in that spot. i changed every electronic sensor or piece of electrical...

Info on swapping a compete exploror engine!

buy the engine, and sell the parts you don't need to the explorer crowd. there are lots of people into that s.u.v. that's what i did. bought a 6k mile explorer engine from a salvage yard, complete throttle body to pan for $800. then, i sold the intake, throttle body, coil packs, wiring...
