    Are these Trickflow heads?

2 things come to mind after reading this flash of brilliance: 1. E cam and "great cam" should NEVER be included in the same sentence unless the word NOT is included; and 2. Unless I had the engine in a Tractor - If I had an R block 345 with TFS 205 heads and was only running mid 11's...

    remember the guy...

This is now getting all over the net and forum members of all types are now laughing at this doorknob. His level of intelligence astounds me... and he makes that level known in all his posts. How this thread has not been edited and locked to remove this boneheaded and unsafe advice is...

    3rd and 4th gear gone.

You should not need heat. I never have - but then again I am not under your car looking up at your driveshaft. Try it with a 3/8 ratchet and a 12mm 12 point socket - with the tranny in 1st or reverse. If the bolt wont "snap" or break loose - try heating them up if you have a torch handy -...

    3rd and 4th gear gone.

Its a 12mm 12 point socket. get the other ones off - then try the stripped one. Remember - its always better than to hit the wrench/ratchet handle with something then to just pull/push real hard. Rust and corrosion will break loose much easier than they will twist loose. Just a tip.

    E and B -

You can not really classify the cams as stages above stock when comparing the two. The E cam is an emissions legal cam and will give pretty good low end tq. Edelbrock copyed it for its roller Performer series. The B cam edelbrock copied for its Performer RPM line and has more durattion to...

    Rockers are "ticking" me off

Sorry for the pun. . . I recently installed Trick Flow heads on a 89 5.0. I am using 6.70 TFS pushrods. I am using a B-Cam with stock lifters and 1.7 roller rockers. My problem: I adjust the rockers like I always have - exhaust begins to open adjust intake, intake almost closed adjust...

    86 302 + E7's?

E7's "should" fit without any problem as long as you are using a stock cam - it worked for me some years ago (it was close). According to Trick Flow (high ports at least) will not work w/o fly cutting - same goes for Gt-40 series heads. The E7 swap is a 20 horse project - but you won'tl feel...

    Crazy Starting issue

I recently purchased a 90 Hatch lx converted 4cyl. It now has a 89 GT 5.0 between the fenders. It is a carb car (Holley 600) using the stock fuel pump with a Mallory return regulator. It has a Mallory Unilite distributor and Mallory Coil. I can not find an ignition box anywhere...

    What 351W Block?

The 69-70 blocks have a slightly lower deck height - so you might want to look for a block with the code D1 or D4 (71-74). The 94 blocks were the first roller cam blocks. You can run a roller w/o link bars by simply using the 5.0 spider and lifters w/ a small base circle roller cam - any...

PCV setup - need the info!

I am just a little confused. I recently built a 351w (see signature) and was told that if I don't set up the PCV correctly, I will develop blowby - and I can already tell the rings are loosing seat. However, I was told it is not to late . . . I had custom valve covers welded up to clear...

What to replace after sitting for 6 years?

After changing the fluids I always (from now on) add the "Seal Renew" or "Stop Leak" in the all the fluids they make it for. For instance I drain the tranny, PS, coolant, oil and rear end before startup - then add the stop leak and replace the fluids - then prime the engine (this is after...

    E-Brake Altercation

Put in a new rear-end, and now need to adjust the E-brake cables, they barely worked when I got the car. You would think, for how complex rear drum brakes are, they would stop better. . . but I digress. So . . . how do I adjust (tighten) the e-brake cable? BTY: Its an 86 Convertible GT
