Serpentine Belt Tensioner - How do you release tension?

I use a 15mm socket on the hex bolt right on the pulley at the end of the arm. Just lift in a clockwise direction. If the bolt moves a little that's ok because it is a left hand thread, it just means the bolt is getting tighter.

    Rear Swap

That sound about right but your gears were probably $175.00 and another $300-$400 min for the T-Lok. So that's about $625.00 to $725.00. My rear end was $725.00 & I purchased the the axle install kit ($15.00) + shipping was $862.00 total. I did the labor myself but I also added new upper &...

    Rear Swap

I don't know guys. If your going to do it yourself the gear swap makes sense, but once you ad the cost of the diff then you're actually better of just changing out the rear end in my opinion. Especially if you're going to have someone do it for you. The rear end is easy enough to change out...

    Cam Positioning sensor

Any Ford dealer, and about $60.00. I recommend using Ford parts when it comes to the sensors.

    Rear Swap

8.8 just arrived so I let you know. They say its a bolt in but I am adding the quad shocks which GT's have and while I'm down there I'm replacing the upper & lower control arms (145K so probably needs it). Also the speedo gear if you go with any ratio other that stock. I'm going to 3.3's

There is also a tag on the rear differential cover but he is correct. If you have a V6, 2.73 & 7.5

You Got that right. Since when does the minority rule in a democratic society. I guess it's just who screams the loudest.

    CAR SHUDDERS

Possibly drive shaft out of balance. Other thing I noticed is you have 3.73 gears. Did you swap them or change the whole rear end? If differential wasn't shimmed properly, may be a cause and probably need new gears.

    1st gear problems

I had an old Dodge that no-one could find reverse except me cause I got good at it. Anyways the problem was a bent shifting rod. All other gears were fine except that one. Something to check at least.

    Rear Differential problems

If you have a 2000, and are under warranty, take it to the dealer and have them check it out. I highly doubt it would be the diff as the other guy said, it's open, only one will spin.

    Replacing 3.8L...What to do?

Check out Mustang parts specialties at www.stangparts.com if your looking for mustang 3.8 engines. They part out mustangs and have all kinds of motors. If you problems are just with the motor it may be a good option. Otherwise as the other guy suggested get a haines and fix it yourself. I...

    Best place to find these...?

Kind of agree with the last guy but try GEFRacing.com They're a Ford dealer down south with Ford Racing license. I got my 17's there and the nice part is they were cheaper than discount tire or tirerack. You could check those to but they moslty sell ricer stuff. Discount tires is Tires.com...

    Installing lowering springs

I installed a biltsein tuned suspension on my 95 which dropped it an inch. Problem with going 1-1/2" is you are going to need some additional items. First you'll need cast & camber plates, second is a bump-steer kit to compensate for the drop in relationship to the steering assembly. For...

    What brake pads to use?

I use Hawk performance brake pads, they are about $50 front & rear. I don't know if local places cary them but you can find them almost anywhere online. They are a non-metallic so you don't get any squealing when it moist out and stop awesome. Rotors sound pretty new so just drop in the pads...

    Car won't start??

One other possibiltity is if you replaced the fuel filter, they may have tripped the cut-off switch. It is a safety feature in case you get in an accident there is a trip switch in your trunk. Mine is a 95 and it is located on the drivers side behind the panel. Other possibility is...

Went with 17's - speedo off.

Well, if it is a 245/45 17, the diameter is 25.68" Original should have been a 205/65 15 which is 25.49" diameter. For anyone who wants to know how to figure tire diameters. eg. 245/45 17 245/25.4, this gives you the width of the tire. (245 is in millimeters, why, who knows) take...
