Will a 92 DP federal emission stang pass CA smog?

They do different limits for different cars here as well. Here's how my car tested: ..................................Reading..............Limit HC grams per mile..........0.30...............1.20 CO grams per mile.........13.09.............20.00 NOx grams per mile........2.10...............2.50...

Will a 92 DP federal emission stang pass CA smog?

Well, the car just passed MA inspection yesterday. They test all the emissions stuff though I think CA has stricter limits. My car passed without much trouble....well, besides the fact that the mechanic sheared one of the two shifter handle bolts when he was going through the gears when the...

wont start after it warms up?

The first thing to determine then is if the problem is fuel, spark or compression. I would make sure the fuel pump is priming when this happens and that you get good spark.

wont start after it warms up?

Most likely the culprit is the solenoid on the starter.

Will a 92 DP federal emission stang pass CA smog?

I'm moving to CA from MA in a couple weeks and I'm replacing the exhaust on my mustang and found that the aftermarket exhaust from autozone eliminates the precat and only has one catalytic converter on it. The CA emission cars require the precat from what the exhaust catalog at autozone was...

    Removing stock exhaust manifold studs

Well, I'm an impatient MFer and didn't want to wait a few days so I went with drilling the studs out to 1/2". Kind of a pain in the ass but now I'll be able to use 7/16" stainless bolts instead of studs and never have this problem again.

    Removing stock exhaust manifold studs

Anyone ever replace the studs exhaust manifold studs on the outlet of the manifold? Mine were pretty damn rusty but I managed to remove the nuts and get the old exhaust off. Now the threads are nearly nonexistent halfway down the studs. I got new zinc-plated nuts to replace the old rusty ones...

    fuel problems

First thing I would check is the EEC relay. The schematic I'm looking at is for an 89 but if the wires have the same colors then the Red/Green wire should get voltage when the ignition switch is turned to the run position, the Black/Orange wire should be hot at all times which is fed by a...

My old oil filter looks brand new...why?

Ya, I checked all the gauges quite frequently for a good 20 minutes when I started it up for the first time in a year to make sure everything was ok. Everything read normal. I didn't hear any engine knocks or clattering. Everything seemed perfectly normal. I looked into the filter a little...

My old oil filter looks brand new...why?

Alright, I'm confused. I've had my mustang on the lift for about 5 days doing a T5 swap and I figured I'd change the engine oil today. So I drain the old oil (which was black) and then put the drain plug back in and unscrew the old filter. The filter didn't look too bad on the outside. I...

    Need opinions

I would check to see if there's any signs of the tranny leaking from the front pump seal. That's a common problem with the automatics.

    after cooler questions.

Ya, good call. Those are nice. There's a couple different sizes of those if I remember correctly. A short one and a full size one. I was looking for one a few years ago but they're kind of expensive and not as easy to find. I was looking into getting a multi-core volvo IC welded up ( 2 or 3...

Increasing fuel economy on a budget

Yes, I am aware my automatic does not currently have a clutch. :nice: I've got a new stock flywheel and clutch set to go in when I swap the T5 in. I'm very curious as to how hard it would be to steer with the pump disconnected. I think I may try just disconnecting the lines and removing the...

Increasing fuel economy on a budget

As some of you might know, I am going to be moving cross-country to CA and will be driving my stang there. I will be taking a bunch of stuff with me which will weigh me down and reduce my fuel economy. I am trying to find cheap ways to increase fuel economy. It's a convertible so it already...

    Horrible Belt Squeeling

You can take off the AC belt with no issues besides the AC not working. That'll narrow things down a little. Squealing can be from bad bearings on any of the accessories (water pump, alternator, power steering pump, etc) or the idler pulleys. You may want to take some WD40 and spray it on...

    after cooler questions.

As a side note, I have some volvo front mount intercoolers for sale for $20 each plus shipping. They normally go for about $40 but I need to get rid of them. Much cheaper than a AWIC. If you want more info on intercoolers used commonly on the 2.3 turbo's I'd check out the forums at...

    capri build up.

warwickben, I'm about 45 minutes south of Boston but will be moving to CA sometime early June. If you need any 2.3T, mustang, or other misc. parts let me know. I might have something I can sell to you cheap as I need to get rid of a lot.

    RPM guage off whack

The change to synthetic probably was the cause of the leak. Synthetic oil tends to 'clean' an engine. After an engine gets some miles on it it'll develop little leaks that'll get gunked up and then sealed. The synthetic will sometimes clean the gunk off and cause leaks to reappear. I suppose...

    capri build up.

The hatch on the capris is more of a "bubble" design than the mustang hatches. I'm not sure if a regular mustang hatch will fit in place. Besides the hatch and some other small body styling tweaks the capri is pretty damn close to being a mustang. What are your plans for it?
