01 or 03-04 Cobra???? Please advise.....

03/04. If you go and supercharge the 01, you're gonna have to worry about the internals holding up and the transmission breaking. You'll end up spending more money on the 01 trying to make it faster than a stock 03/04. The value will go down more and more on the cars so you'll end up dumping...

    03-04 cobra vs. 03-04 mach 1 vs. 99 cobra

If you look closely under the manifold where the engine is split you can see a diamond shaped pattern throughout the block; i believe you can see it on the sides of the block as well. my 01 had a teksid. it's been so long i cant remember. and to the original question... with 03/04s being...

Just purchased my first Cobra and need advice please

turbo... $8k in the kit alone + miscellaneous + the absolute need for forged internals.... etc etc you'll be near $20k to a have a reliable turbo cobra. the eaton supercharger sucks compared to the others out there. for the amount of modifying your car to make it work, you can just get a...

98 Cobra vert - should I buy it?

that's if he wants to spend $99. For $10 his speedometer will read correct in the mean time. Speedcal's are generally for the electronic odometers in the 99+... which brings the thought that mine still doesnt work!! I don't think it's spliced right or the wires are shot!!

98 Cobra vert - should I buy it?

if you're replacing the top, you should spend the extra money and get an 03/04 Cobra top if it will work. They're all cloth and look a lot nicer. $12k or so would be a good price if it's in good condition. Maybe lower depending on your area... around here it'd go for $13500 I bet. First...

    1994/1995 cobras vs 1996-1998 cobras

don't know about the brakes, but pretty sure the 96+ had 13'' rotors. as for rarity or value in either... nah the 95 cobra hardtop convertible or 95 Cobra R are the only rare ones. I would go with the DOHC motor over the 5.0, unless you plan on building up the 302. you have a 95 GT...

    Aftermarket Driveshafts

well.... i've had plenty of headaches about driveshafts lately... i got a FRPP aluminum driveshaft for my 98 cobra (the car that was originally getting the gears installed) and never did the install. got the 01 cobra, and realize they don't have a FRPP al. d/s for 99+ cobras. from...

    knocking sound on cobra

and that is the reason why the 98 is gone and i have an 01 now.... either dump 3-4k into the 98 which is losing value quickly or get into a newer car. depends on your $ situation, if you gotta lien on the car, etc. etc.

    live axle.. IRS???

don't swap the IRS unless you're goin to the track. i never go to the track.. it's too far away. get some supporting mods to the rear and you get the handling of IRS and you cut down the wheel hop. i'm sure if you try to sell the car in the future to someone they're gonna see a solid axle in...

    96 cobra vs 89 5..0...

that cobra is gonna creep ahead towards middle of 3rd-4th ... that's my prediction.... it is a 125 shot though....... ehh who knows. driver's race probably but more top end with the cobra and the 4.10s help a lot.

    Quick question for you experts...

how recent did ya get it? at least drive it around a couple thousand miles before going s/c route. make sure everything works, no problems. i'd even say get some bolt-ons before you get the supercharger. you'll need it dynoed and a custom tune so you might as well have some other stuff like...

IRS vs. live axle weight diff.

mines not an 03/04 but the rear feels "solid" (pun!!) after the mods i did to it. i get the handling and ride of IRS with some added strength and dependability. unless you're constantly going to the track, there's no need to switch to solid. you won't even feel the weight difference anyway.

    What gears are best?

+1 gas mileage is not that different... 15 miles less to a tank at most. i get like 240 miles to a tank and that's a mix of a lot of highway and street driving. 3.73's are a waste, might as well stay stock.
