Anybody Think The New Mustang Looks Ugly?

I think the car is pretty hot all around, especially the rear end. The front end is definitely my least favorite design cue, but it still looks nice, and I'm not overly bothered by it. Really, I don't understand how people get so bent out of shape over redesigns before they even see one in...

Back In The Saddle, Head About To Explode From Pypes

Thanks dude, I'll look at those options. I confirmed by looking under the car that the system installed is called "Pype Bombs" which, upon review of that company's website, is indeed just a muffler delete like I thought. Just got in from a cruise and I find I actually kind of like the...

Back In The Saddle, Head About To Explode From Pypes

Greetings Stangers I used to be a regular on this site like 10 years ago and kind of fell out of it when I turned in my ’03 GT at lease end. After that, I drove a Neon SRT-4 for a few years (yeah, I know) and for the last 4-5 years it’s been nothing but plain old econo-boxes. I’m a bit...

Motor Trend Info on the new Boss mustang

Hard working? You're kidding, right? Over the course of 3 years, I worked at both of Ford's engine plants in the Windsor area. I've been up and down those assembly lines many times--most of the jobs are total cakewalks. Attaching a hose to an engine is not "hard work" by any stretch of...

Where does Ford go after the 05?

I don't know why some people seem to think that since the current Stang is a "retro" style (love the car, hate the word), they've brought themselves to a dead-end with styling for future models. Even though this one is "retro", the sky is still the limit for the next one--there is no...

    2005 mustang gt convertable pics

I was driving on I-94 near Detroit a few weeks ago and was driving next to a Windveil blue one with a black top (must have been a test vehicle of some sort). It looked pretty good, but I've always preferred the look of a coupe. I was driving a company 300C at the time and tried to get that...

Top Gear Review on 05 GT

This is absolutely true. Mechanical efficiency increases with throttle opening. Gasoline has a given "energy content" that is converted into mechanical energy via the combustion process. Mechanical efficiency is basically: (Power Out) / (Power In) "Power Out" corresponds to the...

Top Gear Review on 05 GT

I agree with everything said here. Anybody who truly thinks it through should not have to ask why Ford's HP/L in the new 4.6L is not as high as some Japanese products, or even other Ford products. First of all, they could have seen appreciable gains in output simply by upping the...

    05 mustang owner age check

The car is not "geared towards the middle-aged", it's geared towards enthusiasts of the rear-wheel-drive, V8 pony car. It's true to say that you would have to be quite a bit older than 25 to have actually grown up in the heyday of this type of car, but you're dead wrong if you think that...

    New Stripes!! Black GT

Nicest '05 I've seen yet. Awesome.

    2005 in canada

$10000 more than a 2000 GT? Where did you get a $25000 GT in 2000? I had a 2000 before my 2003, and I believe the sticker on it was a bit over $30k.

Pics of My GT w/Stripes, Tinted Windows & Spoiler Delete

Car looks pretty sweet. I have one complaint -- and this isn't your fault -- but those rims absolutely suck. A set of chrome 18-inch simple 5-spoke rims would do wonders for that car. I wish I could photoshop it to prove it to you. Good work!

    2005 in canada

Yikes. That's a bit more than I'd hoped for, but about what I expected. I figure, my '03 was $31k and change, so for about 4k more, I get a far superior product, so that's not bad I guess.

    Another cool 05 picture

I second that. The stock rims suck garbage.

Dodge really muffed the new Charger

Here's another picture of the Charger and its Nascar counterpart. This is supposedly an official sketch. I like it better than the GTO, anyway.

Dodge really muffed the new Charger

I have heard/read rumors of a two-door version of the Charger, as well as an eventual 6-speed manual option. It's not as "pony car" as the new Stang, but I still think it'll sell. I like it that cars like that are available. If I ever have kids and am forced to get a more "practical" car...

    To the 05 redisgn haters:

I have a question for you, and for everyone that shares your disdain for the '05 Stang: Why the hell do you continue to lurk around this forum? I mean, it made sense back in the day when everything surrounding the new car was just speculation. Back then, detractors like yourself could hold...

Feast your eyes on some new pics (big)

That car is sweet, but damn do those rims ever suck.

If your under 20, forget getting a 2005 Mustang, even a V6 unless your rich.....

Insurance companies are the biggest crooks in history. When I traded in my 2000 GT for my 2003 GT (i.e. basically the same car, as far as they're concerned) my insurance went up almost $60 a month.

Preliminary 1/4mi times for stock '05 GT

High 14's sucks. I'm sure the car will prove to be better than that, but if not, count me out.
