I have one behind the 460. I was very pleased with their service. I am sure I will brek something else before my driveshaft, but still nice to know they stand behind what they sell.

The oil pan on my 85 has rusted out. Had a pinhole leak in it. When I poked it with a screwdriver it got bigger. The whole pan is pretty rusty and I have a spare lying around so figured I would change it. For those of you that have done it how high did you have to raise the engine to get the...

I paid $500 for an 85 2.3 manual. Had to patch the gas tank, change the power steering hoses and now there is a hole in the oil pan. Overall it is worth it since it only has 86,000 miles and the 2.3's are stout. How is the underside? Torque Boxes? If it really is rust free. I would buy it. I...

That is damn good. I have a buddy who supposedly off roads there. Have yet to see any actual evidence though. He is somewhat of a story teller.

It is for an Alpine CDE-7870. There are some on E-Bay. After looking through my options it may be better for me to just buy a new head unit.

You could get away with the JB-Weld on the tranny, but the oil pan. :rlaugh: I am glad my all the cars I own have steel pans. :rlaugh:

Unplug the vacuum line going to the EGR and see if the engine runs better. I had this problem on my pickup (302 engine). Your EGR may be clogged or stuck open.

You could swap motors, but IRC the inline 6 had a different k-member. I like the looks of the 4-eyes. Just picked up another 85 LX with the 2.3 and 4-speed. Now to find a turbo engine.

Haven't voted yet. I swapped in a 460 into my stang. Wish I had done a little more research. But it is/was all worth it being able to light the tires anytime with an engine with over 250,000 miles. Swap parts and the time to swap it can be a pain. You may be better off with keeping the 302...

Forgot to mention a bunch of big blockers recommend running the Mark V fans. If you do a search on the 385 forum it will tell you what years are recommended.
