    Radio Wiring

I am replacing my original Philco AM Radio on a 1968 Mustang Coupe and have a question about the wiring connector. I have an existing 2 plug connector which contains 2 blue wires with a red stripe on one side, and one yellow wire with a black stripe on the other side of the 2 plug connector...

    68 Instrument Panel Lights

Anyone have a picture of one of these tubular light shields? I have cleared my entire work bench, checked the vacuum bag, and checked the garage floor everywhere........for the life of me I cannot find where I could have possibly dropped them. Thank you in advance! -Danny

    68 Instrument Panel Lights

tubular light shields? I assume these are shaped in a tube. hmm, checked the old bezel and I don't see them. I pulled the flat red plastic pieces from the old bezel and put them on the new bezel when I reassembled it, but these are what display the red background with Belt/Brake text. Those...

    68 Instrument Panel Lights

I have a 68 coupe in which I replaced the Instrument Panel Bezel with a new one. Now that the new bezel is installed and speedo cable/wire harness' are reconnected, all of my gauges work correctly(speedo, fuel, alt, oil press, temp) except the Brake & Belt Lights are now illuminated displaying...

    Soft Pedal Bad Performance

I have now replaced the entire rear drum system, and it is very obvious that the fronts are not engaging as much as the rears are. I have bleed the system now 8 times and have absolutely no air in the lines. If I increase pressure via the prop valve those rears just engage much faster. I have...

    Soft Pedal Bad Performance

I would say that the pedal is lower than usual. Not a huge amount though. If I get an adjustable push rod, would the idea be my existing is too short and I need it longer? Dan Chocko said its a new original booster, I didn't see a particular brand name on it.

    Soft Pedal Bad Performance

Rod was solid, didn't have any adjustment, I just hooked it up to the brake switch and pedal as it was...

    Soft Pedal Bad Performance

I just got finished bleeding my brakes for the 5th time after converting from front drum to front power disc brakes. The pedal is low and soft, and it almost feels like the brakes drag after releasing them. I have the rear proportioning valve screwed counter clockwise (so unscrewed as far as it...

    power brake support help

there is no way to remove this bracket without removing the steering column. I've never done this and my shop manual doesn't provide much detail in doing the job. Apart from what looks to be the obvious, is there anything to look out for when removing the steering column? I have gone to far to...

    power brake support help

I recently purchased a power disc brake conversion kit from chockostang. My 1968 Mustang originally had original drum. I found that my brake support did not have the unique hole to mount the new pivot point for a power brake pedal. Chocko sent me a new mount with the correct hole, but I cannot...

    68 heat & a/c control

Tonight I noticed a new issue in the Mustang. I have 3 controls that slide vertically on the dash to control defrost/heat/a/c. The 1st control seems useless, as I cannot get air out of any vents but the floor. Dash vents don't push anything, or the defrost. Could this be a bad switch?

Disc Brakes and 14" styled steel wheels

I would like to upgrade the brakes on my 68 coupe to disc, but I prefer to keep my factory styled steel wheels. I know using the 14" wheels narrows my options, has anybody seen a kit that clears these wheels?

    Power Steering & Headers

Alright, I went to NAPA tonight and they claim that my c-code 289 has a 52 3/8" length pressure hose, and something for a big block was under 2 feet. I was somewhat confused. Is this guy lost I don't see how two feet of hose would work on a big block. With that info I figured I was better off...

    Power Steering & Headers

I've got a 68 coupe with a 289 and some long tube headers. Does anybody with a similar setup have pictures of how you may have routed your power steering hoses to keep them away from the headers? Mine run right next to the drivers side header during a tight left turn and im trying to avoid some...

    Flashing Fog Lights

The headlights remained on while the fogs flashed. I took a look at the headlight rewire guide, which i'm gonna definitely do this weekend regardless. It seems that I need to do a similar rewire to the fog lights as the headlights (taking battery power directly). Would that be too much--...

    Flashing Fog Lights

The other night I heard a faint click, and saw my fog lights ficker off for about 5 seconds, then the same faint click occured, and the lights were back on. Tonight, about 10 minutes into my drive, the same thing happened. Could this be a faulty fog light switch?

    electric choke wiring

Has anyone ever used the starter solenoid to wire an electric choke? I was reading that on the face of the solenoid, the terminal closest to the firewall is 12v switched with key. How have you wired your electric choke? Apart from this my 4 barrel swap has gone surprisingly clean. Thanks for any...

    Grant Wheel install

hmm....took it all apart, looked good, put it back together, and the horn works! I don't exactly know what fixed it, but I can't complain

    Grant Wheel install

So I just swapped my factory wheel for a 3 spoke grant with the pony emblem-horn button. Prior to the swap, I had a functional horn. Using the Grant installation kit on the new wheel, I have no horn, which is the problem. Even if I touch to 2 wires together, no sounds happen. I remembered to...
