    Please Post Your Gas Mileage

I'll chime in here - average driving (40% city, 60% highway) - 20 MPG all highway driving - 25 MPG I usually have it pegged between 75 and 80 on the highway. By the way, wind plays a HUGE part in MPG. One day, 120 mile trip - 20.3 MPG on the way there, 26 MPG on the way home. Same road...

If you've had your fuel tank replaced, please read...

I have had this problem, but only at certain stations. It seems shell stations and Chevron stations are ok... I plan to get this TSB, the front suspension TSB and the radio CD skipping TSB done all at once, I just need to find a decent Ford dealership and figure out a convenient time...

NEW Airaid system for 3V 4.6 GT

Yeah, I just dropped in a k&n panel filter, took out the HCT and focused on exhaust... more fun that way

Off ROAD H PIPES or Not?

Just to re-iterate what tom281 said... hope you like it LOUD. Without cats and with the SLPs, it is basically straight pipes. I've been in and around cars with straight pipes enough to tell that I don't want it THAT loud. It is probably only going to be very similar to what most race cars...

    Brakes upgrade

Wow, thanks! I appreciate the heads-up. What pads do you recommend & where can I find some stainless hoses?

    Brakes upgrade

I'm planning to go to Dot-4 fluid and maybe a more agressive pad... but that's it for now. I just got done doing an on-track event and the brakes handled it fine - a little smelly, but fine.

    Head rests

headrest position is ok for me normally, but it is WAY too far forward with a helmet on... I took mine to the track this past weekend, and it was pretty uncomfortable. Had to rake the seat back so that my arms were too extended for my head to be comfortable. Even the instructor mentioned it.

Straight pipe vs. SLP LM vs. Flowmaster axel backs

I have taken off the stock mufflers to get an idea of how loud the SLPs might be. It didn't sound nearly as good as those clips do. It was loud, but not insanely loud like I thought it would be. The SLP loudmouth axle-back kit is straight pipes - but BIG pipes (no muffler whatsoever). To...

    Auto Tranny Regrets?

I got the auto (the reason was daily stop-n-go commute). I started to get tired of it, but then I started manually shifting it. It is actually really great! Give the manual shifting a try. On these cars, you can choose 1,2 or 3 and it stays only in that gear. Turn O/D off, and it will shift...

Popping Noise when I turn the wheel

Ditto above - I'm waiting for Ford to come out with a real fix then I'll have them do that and the radio at the same time.

    RWHP v. HP

To elaborate, there is a drag added by each of the miscellaneous drivetrain parts - for manual transmissions, that is approximately 15-18% drag. Let's say you go and get dyno'd and you get 275 RWHP. 275 / .85 =323 HP at the crank.

05 GT: Bassani VS. Flowmaster - thoughts?

I'm not worried about the inspection - we don't have to get it inspected where I live. I'm only worried about the dealer seeing the offroad exhaust when I take the car in for my strut popping and radio TSBs.

05 GT: Bassani VS. Flowmaster - thoughts?

I guess I'm not certain. People are now finding that it might not be necessary - you will need to do something about the rear O2 sensors though. If one could get away without getting a tune, I'd do it.

05 GT: Bassani VS. Flowmaster - thoughts?

If they can prove that the issue was even remotely mod-related, believe that the will try to void your warranty

525+ HP is on the way for me!

Oh, don't scare him off... it will be sweet - just make sure it's tuned right (RICH), don't always be in the boost, and don't redline it and you'll be fine... Superchargers aren't as scary as some make them out to be - be smart and your engine will survive many happy miles... I would...

05 GT: Bassani VS. Flowmaster - thoughts?

Yup, the stock sound is pretty good - just not loud enough IMO. So, I've been kicking around the idea of going with an offroad MAC Prochamber instead of changing out the mufflers. Only problem with that is then you have to get a computer tune and there are also issues about having to put the...

    Window Tint?

my tint shop just triggered the door switch - it made the door think it was shut. On a side note, I'm starting to get scratches in my Llumar tint (3 wks old now). You might want to get them to put a felt gasket on the inside of the window (in place of the hard rubber one).

    Engine break-in

Just vary the RPM's - you should be good to go. I did this on my new 'stang in November - drove it 250 miles back home after purchasing it. I made sure to vary RPMs (3-5th gear on the highway) and made all entrance ramps exciting. I subscribe to the thought that you should run it hard right away.

    S & B or K&N drop in air filter

I went with K&N - mostly because of their history, and I've been happy with the one on my Cobra. I can't say I felt a huge difference, but there seems to be more of an intake sound now... (took out the HCT as well).

    87 or 93 Octane

That's true - however it would cause a big headache - first, the dealer voids the warranty. You then have to sue to get them to re-instate the warranty, and that's when the burden of proof comes into play. I would just do everything I can to make sure they won't void the warranty (whether...
