I could very well keep it simple and stock. But that just isn't me. I like having something a little different and very much a performer.

This will be a street rod. Need extra engine room. It doesn't bother me to modify the shock towers or remove them all together.

I spoke with Griggs but man their front suspension breaks the bank.

no prob. I didn't plan on using the file. I just wanted to see how you went about it is all. I will have a slightly different combo in that I will be using a stock cam and plan on going turbo.
what did your total timing end up at and what was your a/f.

That is what I was thinking. I didn't really see a blown gasket except maybe the one between the bores. That doesn't allow coolant to get in though.
It appears the head almost lifted all of the way across.
