    Mach 1 Vs S-197???

How does a bolt-on Mach 1 compare to a bolt-on S-197? With similar hp ratings I would think times would be close? I know the S-197's are heavier though. Is it a drivers race? I assume a 2010 would be pretty similar to a 2005-2009 model?

    Mach 1 Mach 1 Questions

Hello Everyone, I've been on and off this board for probably over 10 years now. I've had tons of different cars in that timeframe, but I always seem to come back to the mustangs. Anyways, I've been thinking about buying a Mach 1 as a second daily driver. I've just recently moved and I am...

Help with gas smell when I park car in garage??

You know, my covers were warped too. I put the edges in my vise and straightened them some and that helped, but i also realized that the original gaskets had metal shims in them. The new gaskets I got would still leak, so I took those original shims, cleaned them with brake cleaner, and...

Help with gas smell when I park car in garage??

I just replaced the hose that couples the filler tube and the gas tank in the trunk, and that corrected my problem. The hose looked fine on the outside, bu tthe inside was all cracked and dry rotted allowing the smell to permeate. Open up the trunk and see if you notice the smell of gas.

Average price for a clean 66 restomod

Now if you are talking fastback, the price goes up substantially! There were fewer of those cars produced, and they are much more desireable. Just clean original cars or cars that have been lighthly restored to good driving condition are usually in the 20K range based on the numbers when I was...

Average price for a clean 66 restomod

I've seen some pretty nice examples for around 15k. Just clean restored cars with new paint, motor, trans, interior, disc brakes, etc.

    Inexpensive rebuild kit suggestions

Grab-A-Trak definately! Basically just copies of the original stuff, but very cost effective! I think you can do the entire front end for between $500 and $800 bucks!

    Spindles?

I appreciate that! I didn't think I would like them, but they have grown on me. They are cheap too, and now I have Crager centers for them so it kind of adds the retro flavor a little. Crager has been around for a long time. I'll probably get something different eventually, but they work good...

    Spindles?

Yes, but when I bought my car the guy had just put a new set of tires on it. And the car has the bullet hole steel 14" wheels. I wasn't crazy about the wheels at first, but they cleaned up nice. I bought 2 matching 5 lug wheels for the back when I did the rear end and have 5 lug rear/ 4 lug...

    Spindles?

"They can try to acquire 65-66 Mustang V8 spindles. These are fetching about $150-$250/set when they can be found. These can be the basis for installing the 65-66 V8 original equipment type Ford KH brakes. The KH kit is offered for $525. Again, the steering linkage needs to be upgraded (cost an...

    Spindles?

For me, I plan on doing a complete V8 conversion to my 66. In terms of the steering/brake setup that would include larger spindles, center link, pitman arm, idler arm, idler arm bracket, inner and outer tie rods and adjusting sleeves. The best I have been able to price all this stuff excluding...

    Spindles?

I bought that C5DA spindle pictured above off ebay yesterday. I think I ended up paying $36 bucks plus shipping. It ended up being less than $50 bucks and it looks to be in pretty good shape. I need a driver's side spindle to match now. If you happen to have one, let me know what you would take...

    Spindles?

The one in the picture above is C5DA-3107B, so it is a V8 spindle. I know you can beadblast the majority of the spindle to clean it up before painting, but what about the actual polished area that the bearing goes on? Steel wool?

    Spindles?

Well, that makes sense. I need to look at the diameter at the end of the shaft. Here is another pic, definately looks like this spindle has a larger nut on the end, so must be a v8 spindle. No casting number though. DO you have any suggestions on the best places to find V8 spindles? I don't...

    Spindles?

That's good info, so basically if I go by casting numbers, for my 66' as long as I get either a C5DA or C4ZA that will be the correct V8 spindle for my conversion?

    Spindles?

I am going to start on a disc brake conversion for my 66' 6 cylinder car, and I want to upgrade to V8 spindles. My question is on the early cars (pre 67) what other vehicles had the same spindles? Can I use V8 Falcon or Fairlane spindles? Are they the same as the mustang spindles of 65 to 66...

Help with Parking Brake Handle! Please!!!

VICTORY AT LAST!!!! I used a tiny screw and my channel locks to push the pin in as far as it could go. The handle still wouldn't budge, so I drilled a hole through the handle down the center of the shaft. I shined my flashlight in there, and I could see the pin was pushed snug against the...
