Can I use stock rocker arms with a cam?

Just check the clearance between the rocker arm and the spring retainer. I chased a upper end tick for a few months due to my stock rocker arms hitting the retainers on my comp springs (93LX with gt40 heads, B cam.) I ended up getting some Crane roller rockers to clear.

    Heads n' A/C

No, you should be able to leave the AC system connected and move it out of the way for your head swap. I just did the same thing for my head swap. Sure, it would have been easier to unhook everything but it is very doable.

    Valve train noise.

Yes, I spent I few minutes with a long screw driver to my ear. The noise seems to be coming from the front two cylinders on the drivers side. I have also done the same thing you described about 15 years ago with a 351 I built for my old step side ford. For that I actually took some old VCs...

    Valve train noise.

A little background.. I have a 93LX with a low mile rebuilt shortblock. I added a set of rebuilt GT40 heads (comp springs, valve job, etc,) Explorer intake, B303 cam, and new FMS roller lifters. When I installed the stock rockers I put each valve on the base circle and was able to reach 20...

Looking for How-To on installing new ring and pinion

Setting up gears takes a few special tools that are not normally in the average tool box. Off the top of my head you will need a press(although I setup my first rear end by heating up the pinion bearing in the oven and dropping it on,) dial indicator, micrometer or calipers, inch pound torque...

    Mongoose Kit

When I bought my kit 1.5 years ago I had to send him my computer to be flashed. But I think he might be sending chips out now.. My car only has 26,000 miles on it right now. But I don't think you will have any issues at all with 76,000 miles. Just make sure you get a new fuel filter...

Please solve Vortech Tuner Kit Mystery

The main problem I see is the Walbro pump. The Walbro pump was not made to work with the returnless system. If you really want to save a few bucks you should look into the aviator pump. I don't think it will run you a whole lot more then the Walbro. Also If I were you, I would take your...

    Supercharger Question..

In this case it SHOULD give you many years of life. Just make sure you get a good tune. A/F ratios are not the only important factor. Make sure your tune is conservative with the timing as well. Also be carefull with your rev limiter. Sometimes I wonder how many blower engines are actually...

    Supercharger Question..

It really depends on your driving style and luck. There are guys out there with over 100k miles with their superchargers. Then there are those that blow the engine at 2k miles. Like most folks say, If you can not afford to rebuild your engine, or be without your car until you can. It might...

    Auto-X'ing the stang?

I usually do about 3 or 4 autoxs a year in my stang. I usually get my butt kicked because my mods put me in a class where most of the drivers are more expierenced then I am. But, it is still a blast. If I could give you one piece of advice....It would be to get as much expierence as you can...

    Autocross on a Budget

Honestly, If you have a stock GT keep it that way for a while. The best mod you can do is practice. You could spend all that money on go fast parts and still get beat by stock hondas if you can't drive. Also by adding those mods you are going to be thrown into a different class where most of...
