Expired Gt40 Style Intake (upper, Lower, And 1" Spacer)

This is an early Ford Explorer GT40 intake, as in still has provisions for internal EGR. Included is the upper, lower, and 1" spacer. NOT INCLUDED is hardware, sensors, or intake plaque. (We needed that stuff for next intake. They are in some pics for mock-up purposes only) All the "hard" work...

    Fuel Problem (Carb 302)

What does it do at 4k rpm in any other gear? If it's a fuel issue, it won't matter what gear it's in, only rpm/load.

Engine Heads And Rear End Question

I would just rebuild the stock traction lock diff. The stronger parts aren't even a consideration until you have 2 things: 1: Enough power to break the stock parts. 2: Enough traction to get that power to the ground. Without BOTH these things, you don't risk much with the stock parts.

    Cam Help

When I talked to Comp about the shortcomings of our E-cam, they said the 35-351-8 is their version of what an E-cam should have been. It's much more aggressive on the ramps, but the specs are softer overall so it gets along with the ECM better. SN 95 ECMs especially don't like the E-cam.

    Cam Help

There is no cam, IMO, that you should swap in without using better valve springs. The stock cam will even do better with upgraded springs. Beyond that though, there are plenty of cams that can go in without changing much in the engine. The E-cam is not the way to go, especially on an SN95 car...

Breather Tube On Oil Fill Cap

I agree with previous posters. You have a set of covers for a carbureted engine, and you will make things hard on yourself and your engine by trying to use them on EFI. Sell them and buy a set of covers for EFI use. You said yourself that you are going to have trouble filling the oil. The...

    95 5.0 Into 86 Coupe Questions

Or.... You could use the SN long block, and then sell everything else SN in order to offset the cost of Fox parts, which will be easier to swap into the Fox chassis.

    95 5.0 Into 86 Coupe Questions

Use what you got. It will be a bit more complex using the SN wiring, but should work fine. As for the intake, you can use either the SN or the Fox. If you use the Fox intake with the SN harness, you'll have to mod the TPS wiring a little bit. What are you doing for a tranny though? The SN...

    Gear Possibility

I wouldn't bother with 3.27s. 3.55 to 4.10, depending on your tranny and where you do most of your driving. If you do most of your driving between red lights and stop signs, a lower gear (higher number) will give you better mileage.

    83 Stang 351 Conversion

Did the PO space the K-member? I heard some 460 Fox guys saying the swap is easier with the K-member spaced from the unibody. If so, you might have to remove the spacers to get a Windsor based engine to fit right again.

    83 Stang 351 Conversion

I think you'll have to worry more about the tranny than the short block at 400 rwhp (roughly 500 fwhp).

    83 Stang 351 Conversion

Those short blocks are far stronger than the 5.0 little brother. I saw a post one time that it took almost 800 hp to split a 351w block. The guy ran for years at x-amount of boost from his turbo, then decided to upgrade to more turbo, and finally split the block.

Engine Air Tube On Head Problem

You might try the jamb nut method... However, I believe those are going to be a bear to remove in the car. Soak them in nut blaster and put a jamb nut on a bolt and see what happens. The worst that could happen is you break the bolt off, but they'll still be plugged if you do. At that point, if...

    Oil Pan Change.

When you put it back together, use a 1pc pan gasket. So much better... Also, I'll second the idea of replacing the pump while you are there, assuming it is stock, or hasn't been changed in a while.
