    New track times...gimme your opinion

That's about a 13.7 -13.8 1/4. That is slow for a geared, modded GT. I was 13.5 with less than that.

    what would i run

With those mods you shouldn't any traction issues. A 97 auto with 3.27s no matter the other mods is gonna suck. Maybe mid-upper 14s?

    New track times...gimme your opinion

Get some DRs and practice. You should be able to hit 1.8-1.9 at worst and that will make a big difference on the big end. Right now your car is slow for the mods you got on it.

Chevy guy considering a Mustang....... come help.

Only problem is with basic bolt ons and driving Im faster than most of those guys. You ran 12.97 in your Cobra man, I ran 12.98 in my 2V bolt on car. There is something to be said about you as a driver when you hit 12s NA. Doing it with a PA and it's like ok another blown GT hit 12s whoopy.

Chevy guy considering a Mustang....... come help.

There is no doubt most guys Ive raced sucked, but Ive raced guys that can drive a little too. I talk with most everybody I raced. The PA guys all told me what I told you, 13.1-14.1 avg about 13.5 around me. At sea level the #s are better of course. I'm not arguing the fact the SS has a...

Chevy guy considering a Mustang....... come help.

See the only problem here is you are bench racing man. Have you been to the track and raced any LS1s with your GT? I have and unless it had a PA I haven't lost to one yet. That doesn't mean Im faster then all LS1s out there, but it means I can drive a little bit. JayC who did the 13.45 run...

Will an AL Flywheel help or hurt my times?

Any chance you could find the issue it was in? I have most of this years MM&FF here and would love to read it since I missed it the first time around.

Chevy guy considering a Mustang....... come help.

That was one of the dumbest posts I've read here. Thousands of $ to get to where his SS was? PUHLEASE. 13.5 is NOT a hard time to hit with a GT. Assuming of course you have a clue how to drive. JayC hit 13.45 with weld in flows an o/r X pipe and stock 3.27s on STREET TIRES for cripes sake...

Will an AL Flywheel help or hurt my times?

I understand the principle behind using the flywheel, but what I'm worried about is will it hurt me trying to launch my car (~3500 lbs with me)? If it will then fine, but I just need to know if launching on DRs will be ok and if launching on ET Streets will be ok.

Chevy guy considering a Mustang....... come help.

Plenty of cars as fast or faster then mine with just bolt ons. With susp this year I expect 12.5 out of mine and it looks bone stock and sounds just a little louder than stock. I have destroyed more than a few LS1s on the track and on the street. That doesn't mean it's for you. If you like...

Will an AL Flywheel help or hurt my times?

I'm a little confused. Do you mean lighter flywheel or p/p (pressure plate)?
  13. bamf70

Will an AL Flywheel help or hurt my times?

Well that's the question. I have to pull the trans to replace an extremely loud TOB and I decided to replace both the clutch (McLeod) and flywheel (figured now was as good a time as any to put an SFI one in) as well. I was just going to get an FRPP billet flywheel, but I ran across a new AL...

How much do gears really effect dyno numbers??

Higher, lower, taller, shorter doesn't matter. The point is the gear in the car WILL effect the dyno results. To this point, nobody seemed to understand that.

How much do gears really effect dyno numbers??

I totally disagree. I have been told by the places I have had my car dynod that a taller gear will lower your overall rwhp/rwtq #s. Nobody could give me an exact %, but for my 4.30 the accepted # was ~ 5%. I have basically every bolt on available. My dyno was 261rwhp 261 *1.05 = 274 rwhp...

Whats better long tubes or a stall convertor for a bolt-on automatic car

First off for better performance you should have chosen 4.10s. With a Gear, you should also be running DRs for best performance. A Tq Converter, shift kit, trans cooler and chip would make your car feel like a different animal. You already seem to have a few suspension mods done to let...
