I wouldn't run anything other than the C4; no modulator, reverse valve body, non comp 1st gear, stainless splines, 2800 stall. It shifts bloody fast!

It's been a while...kids job etc. Here goes the tale. 5 years ago I had a small accessories fire that took out windows door locks nos controller but did no other damage. The car was not drivable in that state at the time as I believed the damage was far worse. A day to a week new job, moved...

Timing pointer & Damper marks NOT aligned

Appreciate much the info and time taken. Remarking the damper, not an issue, easily done. But I must say, being and engineering-type by nature, I'm dying to know what the root cause of the issue is.....I hate it when "Connect "A" to "B" with screw "C".....and your "C" is a bolt.... As...

Timing pointer & Damper marks NOT aligned

Thanks for the reply! It hunts a little...+/- a degree or two. This evening I'll go old school on it. I believe there are two possible out comes: 1. TDC #1 physical and the damper marks align = Cam and crank geometery are...

Timing pointer & Damper marks NOT aligned

Unlike my '65, the damper is all metal...we had to do some major rust removal and old paint to even see the lines. Currently the pointer is an inch plus to the left of the 'ATC' scibe on the damper...I'd estimate 30-40 degrees retarded with respect to where it should be. Question...what...

Timing pointer & Damper marks NOT aligned

I've been thinking, dnagerous I know, of ways to get the timing marks that far off. - Jumped timing or improper install on the cam......But it seems to me that with respect to the piston, i.e. the crank, that the marks should still be aligned when the distributor firs at 6 BTDC. It would be...

Timing pointer & Damper marks NOT aligned

Hoping someone can point me to the right directions. '68 289, looks bone stock down to the 2100 2V autolite. No rebuild history whatsoever on the motor. We went to review dwell, timing, plugs and such on Saturday, set the RPM @ ~7-800 to start with, attached the timing light and....it...

    '68 Stock 2V carb questions

Agreed. I use Edelbrock, great bang for the buck and I've had good luck with them. I had assumed the dash-pot was intended to live up to it's name (anti-decel, etc.) Never having experience with the Autolite carbs it sounds like the need for the dash-pot has to do with compensation for a poor...

Morning D; Thanks for the info. (By the way it was 33 degrees night before last! IT may be Northern Cancun down here in the Summer but we do get cold enough to use a choke. On mine I use electronic and simply adjust it out of the way for most of the year. So, on the 2V, we have the heat...

    Plate-based Nitrous Automation

Safety and ease No, not targeted at racing per se. The plate based systems are fairly tame compared to those used for racing. above 100/150 HP shot the bottom-end will need to be expensive to support that much giggle-gas. But for those who like to have fun with 50/100 shot the circuit...
