    Don't be scared of the AOD. With a good converter and minimal bolt ons you can run 13's and 12's with NOS. Edge makes awesome converters for these things and you will be amazed at how it wakes it up. I was running 13.80's with stall, tires, maf, gears and 1.7 rr's. Stock h/c/i. check out RSW007...

    headers for 88 auto

    I would suggest going with the unequal lengths. The difference in performance won't be too bad and the ease of install VS the equal lenghts will be well worth it. If you've got all the stock emmisions and stuff under the hood, installing those equal lenghts will drive you crazy.

    it might just be that its a 331 kit but the block is the stock bore. I think the 331 assumes a .30 overbore.

    Stock tires were really killing the car. And it always seemed a little slower than it should be but its consistent and thats what I shoot for.

    cooler damaged AODs ?

    I've been running my cooler all by itself (not thru rad) for over 10 years on my summer driven only car and have never had a problem. And that is with a 3000 stall. I'm sure any pressure drop would be too small to cause failure. Trans was probably already damaged before they put the coolers on.

    I ran the 3000 9.5" in mine with stock h/c/i and it was low 14's all day long and still drove like stock. Edge makes awesome converters.

    Is there enough clearance to run "Tall" valve covers on a EFI stang?

    I'm running them with my Perf RPM intake and 1" spacer and they will clear. It's pretty tight but you should be able to do it. I've got AFR 185's on mine.

    its doubtful a shift kit would void the warranty and you could always take it out if something happened. It would also give you a chance to flush the fluid and change the filter. What gear are you running now? What year is the car? How is the posi, still spinning both wheels or is one slipping...
