Thanks for the quick reply. When I turn the key into the ON position the Brake Light and airbag light comes on and the gauges move. When I turn the key as if starting it, the Check Engine light and brake light comes on. Is this what you were talking about. Mike

The previous owner said that the engine is a 306. Would that still be true if I have .030 pistons? I thought 306's would have .040, or am I completely off base here? Thanks, Mike

Dude, right on the money!! TRW sounded a little familiar so I checked the pistons and one of them said TRW and they all said L2249N 030. Can anyone tell me anything about these pistons? Somebody sure knows their pistons...:lol: :nice: Thanks, Mike

Since they are domed pistons, wouldn't that raise the compression? Isn't the stock compression like 9:1. Mike

Update!!! Ok, thanks for the responses. I did a wet compression test and it only went up to about 10 lbs. I then decided to pull the valve cover off again, and to my surprise, I had a broken valve spring on the exhaust on #4. I am not sure if that was there a few days ago when I replaced...

The thing that is cracked is the pedestal the the rocker sits on and the bolt goes through the rocker and the pedestal into the head. How do you fix a stuck valve?

I also think my TFI is bad as I have had similar problems. I know it's not as good as a motorcraft one but Autozone has one for $31.95. It looks pretty easy to swap out so you could at least get this one to see if that's your problem. Just a thought.
