    Thanks for all the input...I'm trying to keep it running until April 06 - I've got a new one coming. I checked prices on the senders and thermostat, together they might $40.00, Maybe just pick both up and see if that solves it.

    2nd Gear Downshift Missing/Backfire

    Sounds like when your downshifting you might actually draging the back tires for a second. If the TC is on....it might think your sliding and start pulling timing, fuel, etc.

    Some lovely 2005 Mustang bashing for you guys to comment on...

    Ford has a solid rear axle in the GT for a couple reasons... 1) Cost is the biggest reason- The solid rear axle setup cost less than the IRS. That is why it is in the V6 model. As for the GT...If they keep the the Solid rear end along with the V6 model they can share in the volume on parts...
