    high dollar VS remanufactured water pump

    ok, so a remanufactured AL waterpump will run me about 20-30 bucks, and a new high volume unit will be anywhere from 80-200. the engine is a mild cammed 302 with aluminum heads. any reason that i shouldnt just get the cheap one? will i have more issues with overheating? thanks

    well i've already got the fel-pro printoseal gaskets because thats what trickflow reccomended for the heads. as for them blowing through when it overheated, this is the first i've heard of this problem. so just plop 'em on and torque 'em down? thanks again guys

    well i just checked the thickness of the old gear to the new gear, and sure enough its about .050 thicker. so i need a new timing set or a two piece eccentric, and either way the dowel pin needs to come out. so how the heck to i pull the dowel pin out? its stuck in there good.

    richmond 5 and 6 speed are used less often cause of the price tag. 6 speed will run you close to 3 grand, 5 spd for just under 2 g's. you could break 3 T5's for the price of a richmond 6spd.
