    New Daily Driver

Thanks for all the comments, my daughter and I will probably clean it all up tomorrow. It is an odd motor but very reliable from what I've read and heard. I only had to convince the wife to get a bike. :D Juggalo95, check Craigslist often, that is my best advice. Vintage bikes can be found...

    New Daily Driver

Well I bought a new daily commuter vehicle. I saw this on Ebay and was going to bid on it, but someone used the "Buy it Now" then didn't pay the lister. :notnice: About two weeks later I found it listed on Craigslist, and worked out a deal on it. :nice: It's a 1978 Honda CX500, 32k miles...

    Running without rear brakes.

This is a bad idea, been there done that 20yrs ago. I've driven a newly purchased car, the rear brake line failed shorlty after I left the seller's house, without rear brakes to get it home. It was a $300.00 car so I wasn't going to complain. It was fun for a couple minutes, the ability to do a...

OFFICIAL: How many miles are on your 94-95 Mustang?

Odometer stopped at 166953 in April 2005 and I haven't fixed it. I put about 330 miles on the car each week. I estimate that is has about 215K on it. It runs great but it looks like it has 215k miles on it :(

    Lowered my car finally...

Much better looking. I've seen a few other teal GT's around Palm Bay but I don't recall ever seeing one with those wheels, do you drive it much?

    Better than a raise...

MIROCK is a good one since you are in NE, they only run the Maryland Int'l and Rockingham. AMA Dragbike travels around the eastern US.....GA,TN,NJ,IN, and OH. Both have 8 races per season. I think you'll be fine, the key is having the proper safety equipment. I talk to guys running in every...

    Better than a raise...

Nice Bike!! Are you going to be running a series like AMA Dragbike or Mirock? As for leathers, you can check with Vanson or Bates, they are both popular with the AMA Dragbike series racers. I have witnessed 2 Top Fuel bike pilots come off their bikes at the top end at over 200mph, and they...

    Who here autocrosses?

I've done it a few times in the past, it is tons of fun. I even managed to pull off a win in the Novice class. It's a blast and teaches one exactly what your can will and will not do. I also learned something very useful, that ABS only works if all 4 wheels don't lock at the same...

    Crappy Geo Metro design fixes?

Couldn't tell you if the 3cyl Turbo Sprint I had was different internally than the carbed version from that time. I do know that the clutch, axle shafts, struts/shocks, was MPFI and intercooled. From what I could tell everything else was the same. The turbo was an IHI, same one they used in...

    Crappy Geo Metro design fixes?

Old 1970's Kawasaki H-1 and H-2 bikes were 3 cylinder and so are some new Triumphs. Off the top of my head that's what I recall at the moment. I had one of the 87 Chevy Sprint Turbo models(before they were Geo Metros) which had a factory tach. I can't say that I've looked inside a newer one...

who daily drives their 94-95 gt/cobra?

Mine is a daily driver, 64 miles round trip to work and back. I don't beat on it, but it's exposure to the FL sun is very apparent. :( It has somewhere over 200k on it. Odo stopped in April '05 at 166,953.

something ate my paint; best place for touch up paint

Paintscratch makes aerosol cans using your paint code from your door jamb. $24.95 for a 12.5oz can. They also carry the brush on style and paint pens in factory colors. I have not purchased from them, yet.

TFI Module and Stator Replacement for $850???

Take the TFI module to Autozone, just to see if it's actually bad, they can test it for you and will let you watch. You would need a press to remove the distributor gear in order to fully disassemble the distributor to replace the stator. It's far easier to just swap out the distributor.

Who still has dial-up internet connections????

That link I provided says that AT&T is supposed start offering their DSL w/o the requirement of having their home phone service, but not for another 6 months. That was part of the agreement with the FCC when they bought Bellsouth. So right now, you have to use them for your home phone service if...

Who still has dial-up internet connections????

If one pokes around AT&T's website enough you'll find that you can get DSL Lite(768k) for $10.00/month. I don't know how many of you are on dialup and in AT&T service area. http://www.local6.com/technology/13526538/detail.html :nice:

    Bought another Mustang...

Hmmm that gives me an idea....I think I have a pair of slicks and a set to Torque Thrusts that I'm not going to use on my unfinished :nonono: '69 442 model kit. I'll bet I could make them fit, the GT. I guess I just need to find time to do these. Hell I have a Lambo LP500S from the late 80's...

    Bought another Mustang...

Hey you got one!!!! Cool! Nice color combination.:nice: I must admit, mine is still sitting in the box. :nonono: Still trying to decide what color to go with. I also have the wheels from a 96 Cobra model. The car has seen better days, so they may end up on the 94 kit.

Another tire thread, anyone run these?

I've run the 711's. They were good in the rain and a decent tire for the money. They do get noisier as they wear. I was going to buy another pair for the front, but was told by 2-3 different places that they'd been out of production for about a year. I think I put about 30000-35000 miles on the...
