    Megasquirt/tuner Studio Tech Thread

Google messed around with how they do permissions and re-aligning permissions to their new arrangement resulted in them generating a new link for some reason The original seems to still be accessible but this new link is where future updates will go. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/...

1995 Mustang GT Megasquirt Timing and ignition settings question

That's the correct position. I realized today that my thought about +45 is wrong for a couple reasons. Can you post your MSQ? Not for any other reason than my own curiosity.

1995 Mustang GT Megasquirt Timing and ignition settings question

To understand this the first thing to do is approach the subject from the same context megasquirt does. Everything megasquirt does for spark and injection first starts with identifying the moment of TDC for cylinder 1 in the firing order. From that moment megasquirt is taking all other actions...

1995 Mustang GT Megasquirt Timing and ignition settings question

Sure I can write it up tomorrow. I'm just on my phone tonight. An offset of 56 is interesting. Can you take a picture of your distributor cap with the #1 plug wire marked? I'm betting they're one position off standard, which is 45 degrees, and then you effectively have 11 degrees physical...

1995 Mustang GT Megasquirt Timing and ignition settings question

Yes it's the same. All Megasquirts operate the same way. Both of these techniques will work. That said you can't set a timing that is less than your offset with Ford TFI or EDIS because these systems automatically spark at the offset. For the same reason you can't use spark cut for rev...

1995 Mustang GT Megasquirt Timing and ignition settings question

That will happen if the base timing is very low. I've set base timing to -10 on turbo cars that still ran TFI or EDIS so that they could use anti-lag, those won't idle with the spout disconnected.

1995 Mustang GT Megasquirt Timing and ignition settings question

You can do it either way. SPOUT out is more familiar for people and faster too. You either set base timing just like you do with a factory ECU with SPOUT out and just tell Megasquirt what the trigger angle/offset is (because trigger angle = base timing) then put the SPOUT back in and you're...

Build Thread Jamee's Build Up Thread

:rlaugh: You're like the Jaquelin of all trades in this thread. Good stuff. :nice: I don't know how you work in the cold, all my projects are on hiatus for nicer weather. When are you going to visit Virginia? :D

Buying a 93 mustang GT. What to look for?

Good to hear. :nice: And no, the travel doesn't sound insane. I once drove 20 hours straight for a hood. :D

OK car wont move. Pump, Relay, regulator?

Bench test the pump. By now I'm sure you know which leads on the pump are power and ground. Use some spare wire, and hook the pump up directly to the battery. Make sure it's actually pumping gas through a bucket or something so you don't burn it out. If it comes on every time you connect...

    need help please

I think you can get more slack if you have the clutch pedal lifted all the way up and prop it up there with something.

    need some troubleshooting help

Certainly possible. What is your battery voltage with the car off? With the key on? With the key on and the blower blowing? With the car running? With the car running and the blower blowing?

    Starter wont disengage once started

So, this thread actually solved one of my problems. I have a 92 with the mini starter, and I've never had one of these before. The starter would always hang for a second or two after starting. The previous owner had this problem and couldn't figure it out. I couldn't find anything obviously...

    Running Rich issue

I think E4LB-14A459-B is just the part number for the connector piece. If it's an 070 and you're right about that being a topaz with a 50 pin connector, count the pins. If you have 50, it's definitely not going to work. I don't even think it would plug in to a mustang harness because we...

Cool deal I will keep an eye out. Good luck!

OK car wont move. Pump, Relay, regulator?

Sure it's just 2 wires. Connect the ground and give the other one 12 volts. I don't know the colors off the top of my head, so pay attention to which wire is the 12v wire from the inertia switch down through the harness to the pump. I don't know what would happen if you wired it up...

OK car wont move. Pump, Relay, regulator?

I thought the underbody was basically the same between the hatch and trunk models. The wires go down to the pump through a grommet that is in the spare tire well. I know there's a connector after the grommet. There might be enough slack in the wire to pull the connector up through the grommet...
