    mufflers???

[very interesting..... got any sound clips of your car? I'll try to get a friend to take a clip of it this weekend. I love that sound! The header wrap is a pain, but worth it. BTW it will smoke and stink for a few days, just a heads up. Well worth it though. The basic thing is that...

    track-loc question

Look at this thread: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=669705&highlight=truetrac So far it looks like the best solution. Soon as I get the money together it's what I'm getting. If you find any other info on it please share.

    mufflers???

Alternate view here. I based my decision to go with full exhaust on my interaction the local police... Seems I always find myself either right next to one or with one right behind me... go figure? Anyway, I may be a little traumatized from all those noise tickets from down in VA...

    best heads for a 351

AFR's all the way! They may cost a little more, but they are still the best value for the dollar though. They outperform, plain and simple. They even come CNC ported. I'm still using the AFR 165 heads from my 302 on my 351w, but will upgrade to the AFR 205 heads sometime next year...

Getting ready to purchase a Scat 306 rotating assembly

Ok, I just have to put my .02 worth in for doing the 351 swap instead. Huge gain in torgue if take the swap option! Don't take my word for it, search the forums. You'll find that those of us who went 5.8 absolutely love it. To anyone out there looking to do a block swap all I'm...

Who has TrueTrac? Please give opinions!

Looks like you found the right post alright. That's exactly what this one is about. According to the info I've found and the feedback I've gotten so far it looks like the TrueTrac will be the best. Unless someone comes out and posts something bad about it I'm going to buy it. Everything so...

Who has TrueTrac? Please give opinions!

I don't put any stock in advertisements, the statistics they use are just too subjective. All they have to do is create an unfair test/sample to go off of and they can claim to walk on water and not get sued. I still have a few months to wait till I have the money to spend, but the TrueTrac...

    351 swap issues

Ok, the tire thing i$ going to hurt. Last summer I put on some MTs and totally loved them, until a couple of months went by and I saw the rubber was worn off and I was driving on cords... Then I put on a set of Nitto 555 275/60/15, which were ok for the 302 but the 351 spins the heck out of...

    351 swap

Spierce, you done good! Now you have me trying to think what my swap ran... Anyway, Ty-rone you'll never regret the swap! Just don't try to keep it too mild. The roller block I got was a 94' and heck, it's even taken out .060 over. Once you get it all worked over and installed you'll be...

    351 swap issues

Soooo True! :hail2: If you have any more traction mods in mind this would be a good time for them! Have a great time with that 351!

Who has TrueTrac? Please give opinions!

I have to say that the TrueTrac comes off sounding really nice, and that everything anyone has had to say about it is positive. I can't help wondering why there haven't been very many responses though? In our whole realm of Stangnet are there only a few people who either have or have an...

    351 swap issues

The lifters should be well oiled up shortly after the engine starts. Your oil pressure feeds them as soon as it starts turning. Just think about starting the engine with the valve covers off. How long does it take before oil starts pumping up through the push rods, almost immediately, that's...

    351 swap issues

I'd say you definitely have a valve problem alright... Do you have a local machine shop? I'm pretty sure that one of those guys has seen this before and may have your answer.

Who has TrueTrac? Please give opinions!

Hey, were getting some good feedback already. Keep it coming! If this TrueTrac works as well as it claims then we should share the info! As for the spool, let's say I was very tempted... The thought of squeeling around all the corners of my parking garage at work kept me looking other...

    351 swap issues

I can take some pictures maybe tomorrow, just need some daylight time to do it. Sounds like you have a good distributor already. I have my timing set at 13 to 14 degrees without the plug, that little advance helped me a little. What lifters do you have and how did you adjust them? With...

Who has TrueTrac? Please give opinions!

Cornering is a big issue with me. Right now when I'm sitting in traffic waiting to make a turn I'm always thinking how long it will take me to pick up to speed after the turn, mainly because I almost always have one wheel spinning through the turn and continue with the one wheel peel when I...

Who has TrueTrac? Please give opinions!

Please forgive me but I'm completely sick of the one wheel spin. :bang: Gone through three LSDs and I'm still on one wheel... I just want one that works. I used the "Search" feature in looking up different rear ends, I'm heavily leaning towards the TrueTrac from Detroit. So I'd like to...

    351 swap issues

We have almost the same exact combo. I just did the swap myself, with the same symptoms... I just replaced the stock 351 distributor with an MSD and OMG what a difference! Timing is way different too, not at all where it was with the old distrubtor.

    AFR 165 heads

I'll tell you what cam not to get, if you want to stay streetable that is. Look at my set up in my sig. It barely idles, dies sometimes and runs jerky as all He__ below 2,000 rpm. I totally love it at high rpms, but it's not very streetable anymore and that sucks... You'll love the AFR...

    Tire rubbing on rear bumper

Hello, I guess I have to roll my fenders... Question is: will that also fix the spot where my rear bumper wraps into the fender well? It contacts that plastic on bumps, and I've already pumped up my air shocks to 120psi. Second fix is to change tires I guess... I just put on...
