    Bumper Cover Studs

Yeah - also clean up the threads really well and put some anti-seize on them for when you reinstall. The reality is that they get rusted on and you start trying to remove them - the plastic bumper always gives first. I remember having that battle on both of my cars.

93 2.3L AOD Factory Idle RPM?

Yeah, that's true about the plugs. Fortunately there is enough room to get a socket and swivel on there without pulling the manifold.

93 2.3L AOD Factory Idle RPM?

All 2.3L Lima engines in the Ford lineup became Dual Plug in 1991. That includes the Mustang and Ranger in all variants. Despite the slightly higher power of the dual plug engine (105 vs. 88) the extra spark plugs really had no influence on that, just the cylinder head design itself (which is...

1993 Premium sound stereo into 87-92 Mustang : Install thread

Got mine plugged in. Powers on, static for the radio (which I shaved my antenna so that is no surprise of course) but also have the dreaded "CD Error" message when I put in a CD. The unit does accept and eject the CD however, so there is that. I think I am going to take it apart and look...

1993 Premium sound stereo into 87-92 Mustang : Install thread

I've been doing some research on this as well. Using the slave CD port, if possible, does seem to me to be maybe the "cleanest" way to do things, especially if you had access to the plug that those CD changers would have used (although it's not a requirement). Regarding the dummy CD/Tape - I...

Progress Thread 1993 LX-Cobra Conversion Project

The real thing to do would have been to buy 10k worth of bitcoin. The problem with any of this speculation is that you really can't predict the future, and I didn't buy the car as an investment. It was just supposed to be a car I could drive around without being overly concerned about it...

I need to source a spare as well. I had to throw mine out since I swapped to 5 lug.

Progress Thread 1993 LX-Cobra Conversion Project

That sounds like a good idea, I will check it out. I really don't plan on putting anything heavy in the back of this thing honestly, so it just needs to be strong enough to not sag when I put groceries in it for instance. I think I can use cardboard to create the template to get a really nice...

Ahh, okay. I’ll have to do some searching around for it. Thanks

@Mustang5L5 - Incidentally, I know you made a panel for the hatch that was a full size piece for the hatch carpet to go over instead of the dinky Ford one that collapses over time. Did you happen to document those dimensions somewhere? I don't remember the name of the thread to try and find...

Progress Thread 1993 LX-Cobra Conversion Project

Yeah, I will do that eventually. I'm actually not doing the delete plate, I bought a while back a CD player out of a 1995 F-150 (so it's got the correct faceplate and such - thanks for doing that CD player write up way back when :) ) but I don't have the coin tray and bracket yet to install it...

Progress Thread 1993 LX-Cobra Conversion Project

So, the time finally has come to finish this project. It's been delayed for quite a few reasons, but since it was basically at the finish line I really didn't have a lot else to do with it as far as the cosmetics. So, I took the full day yesterday and was able to get it about 90% back together...

    Door Moldings

Mine were bought from LMR a quite a while back. I never really took super close up pictures of them, but you can somewhat see in this picture what I mean. I don't think they are "shorter" really, it is just that they are kind of wavy/uneven compared to the OEM ones, they were definitely...

    Door Moldings

My experience with them is that they are very stiff and had some waves to them. They were acceptable enough for me to put on my car, but I prefer the OEM ones.

Seems like knick knack stuff like this will be eventually covered in the 3d printing market.

    Steering vibration?

New wheels and tires? Have you gone back to the shop that did the install? That would be the first thing I would do. It's always possible that they didn't get them balanced correctly, or that it chucked a loose wheel weight shortly after you took it. EDIT: What kind of wheels are they...

    Steering vibration?

Tire(s) out of balance. Bad tires/slipped belts. Bent wheel. Hub bearing(s). How bad would you rate the vibration? At what speed does it occur? Does it get worse as you continue to speed up?

    how can i fix this?

Hard to say just how bad it is until you expose everything. Replacing the quarter is a lot of work, so I'd generally only do it if you deem that quarter to be unsalvageable. The good news is that unlike a lot of newer cars, there is quite a bit of access to that area of the car from the...
