    Spintech Side Exit System

My exit pipes supplied by spintech are notched to clear standard straight subframe connectors (although I don't have any, so I cannot comment on fit). It's true though, that since the header pipes hit the front of the muffler, and then exit back out the front, I don't see how you could ever...

    Spintech Side Exit System

It only sounds that way if you don't put in H or x crossover pipe. You wouldn't mistake mine for a 4 cylinder. ;)

    Spintech Side Exit System

I've got them on my car. I don't notice a problem with fumes at all. They are loud, but not too loud (hard to describe). They come in a couple of varieties, and if you call Spintech, they compare the 2 choices to a 2 and 3 chamber flowmaster. I went with the quieter of the 2 choices...

    Big Block vs. Small Block

All these arguements against big blocks due to weight/bad handling are not very relevant. A big block with aluminum intake/heads will weigh a little over 100lbs more than a small block. It's not like you're throwing the titanic on the front of your car by running a big block. You can...

Stock disk brake lines fit stock drum car?

The lines that extend to each front wheel from the proportioning block are different. They terminate facing the opposite direction on disks vs drums. Also, the flex lines are different. Are you going from manual to power? If so, a bunch of things have to be changed.

Fixed brakes, and now gas guage is messed up....

No, I need opinions on what might cause this. I'm not familiar with what the setup is inside the tank that controls the guage readings. If someone could describe it, I might have a better idea of what could have happened.

Fixed brakes, and now gas guage is messed up....

LOL, fix one thing on this car, and something else breaks. I got my manual drum to power disk conversion sorted out. My god what a difference. It's a new car. :) Unfortunately, it's a new car with a screwed up gas guage. :( It worked fine when we started the project. When we got...

Question about checking MC pushrod length

I just went to their catalog and looked at it. That doesn't look like it's made to go on a setup with a vacuum booster (power brakes). Am I wrong?

Question about checking MC pushrod length

I got to reading posts through search, and I notice everyone harps about the booster pushrod not engaging the MC plunger fully. I'm wondering if this is related to my problems in my post about my power brake conversion issues (soft pedal, and no pedal return). My questions: With new stock...

Weird Problems with Power Brake Conversion. Need Help.

The 68 mustang power brake stock factory setup has a proportioning valve in the system. You have to have one if you run drums in the back. I only put an adjustable in because, to my knowledge, the original style valve is not available new. I have the old one from the donor car, but it...

Weird Problems with Power Brake Conversion. Need Help.

On the power brake distribution block, the left front brake comes out the front of it, and the right front brake comes out the front bottom port. The rear brake line comes out of the middle bottom port, and the MC goes into the 2 front top ports. There are 2 more ports on the power...

Weird Problems with Power Brake Conversion. Need Help.

To recap, I'm going from 4 wheel manual drums to power front disks on my 68, with all mustang parts. I obtained disk brake spindles and distribution block from a donor mustang, and bought everything else new. New booster, Master cylinder, Adjustable Proportioning valve, Power Brake pedal...

In the middle of Power Brake swap. Need help fast!!

A buddy and I are putting power disks off a Mustang onto my manual drum brake car. I have all the parts, but we have a few concerns we've found so far. 1. Power Booster. The original manual booster was secured by 2 threaded bolts. The Power booster appears to need 5 holes in the firewall...

    Something went wrong.... BOOM

Drop the pan, and see if you still count 8 connecting rods. ;) I'm going with the coolant into oil theory as well. Probably seized and threw a piece of a rod out. You wouldn't have seen a drop in oil pressure, but the engine probably would have been running hot prior to the failure.
